I have been an Electrical Contractor for 22 years and grew up doing electrical for my dad's electrical company. I can not believe how simple a tool this is and how great it works. If you have ever installed M/C cable or smurf tube (ENT) in metal studs, then you know what a pain in the butt. The M/C gets hung up on every stud. ENT need to have an insulator installed. This tool from Greenly makes installation a breeze. This tool creates 4 petals and bends them over to create a smooth pulling surface. The 1 1/4" hole size is allowing us to install up to 3/4 ENT. One thing you will have to get over is that the hole is a little goofy looking at first and everyone on the job site coming over to look at what your doing. This tool was a little over $160 at my local electrical supply. Then I saw it on Amazon for $110. If I could give it 10 stars I would. BEST TOOL EVER.

so much easier and faster than using hole saws to cut water lines in. Even though it is 1/32 smaller in diameter than the pipe insulators we get, we get the tan softer ones and have no trouble inserting them around the pipe and into the holes made with the stud punch

Punches a smooth round hole. Some previous reviews said it was diamond shaped with rolled edges…that is not the case. ROUND HOLE!! That’s it! Works great!

First, the description says it makes a 1-1/4" diameter hole, which is ridiculous. A circle has a diameter, and this doesn't make a circle hole. This thing makes a weird hole. It doesn't punch the hole out, like drilling a hole or using a knockout punch. The hole this makes would be like cutting an X and then peeling the four triangles back. You end up with a square hole, but all of the metal is still there. It makes the hole by punching a pyramid-shaped spear through the metal, and four fingers on the backside, so as not to interfere with the four triangles being rolled back.Once that pyramid-shaped spear has been punched through, it takes a little getting used to, to get it back out of the hole. If you push that pyramid all the way through the hole, it gets hung up and doesn't want to come back out. But if you punch it through only 99% of the way then it comes right back out with no problem.Once I came around to the mental shift of using this, as opposed to a circle punch, it's really not that bad. That pyramid-shaped spear goes through a metal stud effortlessly. And then the best part. Just as advertised, pulling MC cable through these holes is amazing.I don't care if I'm the only one that has this kind of punch tool. I don't care if 10,000 electricians laugh at my punch tool. Pulling wire through these holes is so effortless that I don't ever want a circle punch again for mcThe only improvement they need to make is to drop the word "diameter" from the description

I purchased this stud punch basically due to it's size, my thinking was to once again; have a tool that not many other craftmen owned... Greenlee's thinking was exactly equal to mines, because " No One Else" owns a stud punch that makes "SQUARE" holes instead of circle holes, but for the exception of me and apparently one other. If the Advertisement had mentioned anything in reference to the stud punch making square holes, I would not have considered purchasing the tool. The advertisement reads, 724 stud punch, the product reads, 724 'Box' stud punch... It's 5 years later and it's still the best stud punch for mc cable... The price has doubled since I bought the stud punch, but it won't stop me from buying a replacement...

I give it 5 stars because the handle is green. I think the tone of the green color is really calming and matches my work skirt. It also contrasts well with the black handles, which complement my shoes too. I really love this punch.

Excellent product, fast shipping and great packing job! They made me a cute folder out of cardboard and put in nice effort to secure the product inside. It was a-little hard to get through all the tape from my excitement but when I got her open it was like Christmas.

Amazing punch, you can make the hole as small as you need, and it curls the edges of the square hole back to protect installed materials.

When I ordered this I thought it punched clean round holes but this just bends the Steele over into a square hole without removing the excess metal.
