This cordless pole hedge trimmer is well made and should last for years. Considering the power that it has and the extension pole it does not feel too heavy to me. I noticed many of the reviews mentioned that it was heavy. For the hedger to be durable and powerful with a reasonable extension it will need to have some substantial weight. Although, to me it is manageable. It cuts through thick hedges with ease on one charge. Definitely recommend this cordless pole hedger.

I've had a echo hedge clipper for 20 years. (short) It's HEAVY but not a problem and always starts.I needed to reach out and up. Hoped for lighter weight. I was totally confused picking a 20V most said not much power. So I went to search for 40v and there were only a couple. This one cost more than the smaller ones but oh well. 30 min battery life sounded very short. It comes today. Feels really cheap plastic. WELL I WANTED LIGHT. The battery was in a big battery case but light. I figured I'll probably return it to Amazon. So I tried it. I'm taking a break after what SEEMED like a hour of clipping. (AND STILL NOT DEAD)).During the clipping of two huge magnolia trees (I had to on a ladder to get the top of both). A few hedges and a few boxwoods. I was sold. I thought wow this is so much easier than my 300+ dollar echo gas unit. It's not perfect - doesn't do it all but I kept thinking I LIKE THIS.Cons..Balance seems off. Seems like it needs another 18-20" to the length not to reach out forward further. (as it's already hard to hold out there) but because more length would move the fulcrum a bit and the extra length would make the saw end feel lighter.FLASH I just noticed they have an extension pole option. I JUST ORDERED IT.That should really help with balance.I also wasn't nuts about lack of adjustable length. But it seemed to work well as is - and now with the extension pole It will be more balanced AND will have a couple of length options.I won't cut the 3/4" branches that the echo gas does but I am surprised how fast it cuts the 5/8 or what ever size they are. They seems larger than 5/8I don't have to move slowly - it has power and cuts fast as I can swing it.I'm going to go up from 4 to 5 starts because I found the extension pole.HOWEVER now it's a bit pricy at around 240.00. If it HOLDS UP - it will be worth it.

Needed to replace my old Shinadaiwa M231 multi-tool + hedge trimmer. Decided I didn’t want to spend +$450 on Ego multi-tool w/hedge trimmer and went for this Greenworks hedge trimmer for

I had the previous version of the Greenworks pole hedge cutter since 2017. It worked well until this year when the mechanical drive finally gave out. I gave it lots of use and have no complaints on the service life of the unit. The new unit looks similar but the function is better. The old unit had a 3 button safety switch sequence (one too many). This unit only has 2 which makes it easier to use.It cuts well, angles when I need it to, battery life is good. I'm very happy with it's performance.

Ordered this as a replacement for my previous Greenworks 24v model that worked like a charm for about eight years. The old unit was lightweight, balanced, and easily maneuverable. This new "updated" version is too long, incredibly off-balance, and heavy. As soon as I picked it up, I new I wasn't going to be able to use this for long stretches at a time. It is overly long with no way to retract or shorten the length, and the design forces you to grip and hold the unit from the far end of the pole; meanwhile the vast majority of the weight is on the opposite end, in the head/cutting unit. Imagine picking up a long swimming pool pole that has a 10 pound weight in the net, but you're picking it up by the very tail-end of the pole. Awkward, uncomfortable, and an instant strain on the back, neck, shoulder, and bicep. It is also worth noting that the actual product is different and significantly longer than the version pictured here on Amazon and on the Greenworks website. What you will get will be a much longer pole than the version in the photos. If it were 2 or 2 1/2 feet shorter, the balance might be a bit better, but this current version is a design fail. Returned. Very disappointing Greenworks.
