The supplied tool is not easy to use. Ultimately I got the job done but it was flimsy and I had a hard time punching the pieces completely.

First off, as someone else here observed, these are not the grommets you are probably thinking of when you think of grommets - they are quite small, more like eyelets, or 'grommlets' (or if you are Polish like me, you might call them 'grommlinkas'). They have to be metal, but it's a very, very thin metal. Whether or not they will hold up will depend on your particular needs. I was looking for a size grommet-like thing I could put into a hospital scrub, so the size actually works for my project.Second, is how to use the hole punch - You don't get any real instructions with this kit, other than the follow along pictures - one of the pictures shows a thin cross-cut of a tree trunk (not included in the kit), and this is a hint as to how to use the hole punch (I think). You place your material on a soft wooden surface, put the punch where you want the hole, and what I did was whack the punch strongly a few times with a hammer - that made the hole. Then I followed the pictures for installing the two grommlinka pieces and GENTLY taped the grommlinka setting tool with a hammer, and voila - it flattened/locked pretty good. (Side note do NOT spill the contents of your grommlinka kit on the floor, or you will feel the urge to swear profusely and be obliged to play a game of 'grommlinka pickup').I need to see how well these grommlinkas hold up to machine washing and actual use (I am using the grommlinka hole to attach a small, non-critical use carabiner). It seems like it will do the job, so for $8, this kit was worth it to me. So far.

I bought this set to put grommets in nylon web straps. The punch that cuts the hole in the material did not work at all for my application by just hammering it on a block of wood. It would not cut through the nylon straps at all. The punch looks fine and sharp so probably the material is not a good application with this punch. My estimation is this may work well for materials like leather or rubber but not so good for fabrics or woven materials.However I used a propane torch and heated the punch up and worked like a champ! It melted right through the nylon strap so actually was a better method because it singed the edges of the hole preventing fraying.The grommets are small but this is what I wanted. Attaching the grommet with the included tools with a hammer was intuitive and worked well. All in all I am pleased and for the money was effective and economical.

Utilisés sur des toiles d'une tonnelle, c'est correct. Beaucoup de déchets de métal avec les oeillets, dommage! Utilisation simple, c'est bien. Des informations sur les autres diamètres seraient les bienvenus.
