I have a ragdoll cat and a rough coated Collie. This comb works well to help avoid matting in the cat, and gets out undercoat shedding in the dog. I use it daily along with a slicker brush and it works really well. I have found that using it before the slicker on the cat helps to detangle the fur a bit so that the slicker is able to remove loose fur. It does not work well for short-haired cats. It is meant to loosen and remove long hair or loose undercoat. The tines are too far apart to do much for a short-haired animal and the metal is too harsh against the skin....my opinion! :) The long, thick coat keeps it from getting too close to the skin.

The comb removes tangles in hair easily and made my doodles hair soft and fluffy. I feel like the comb is sturdy and durable. I did use some detangler with the comb and I feel like that helped. Great comb for the price!

Long hair cats and wirey jack Russel terrier loves this comb. Buying another today so I have one on both house levels. They absolutely love it and it works amazing.

Our toy poodle hates being combed, but his hair just gets tangled so easily. So I bought this comb, and although it does pull a little bit once in a while, (poor puppy), as long as you are gentle, it's smooth sailing. Just got to keep up with the combing when it comes to poodle hair. This goes well with a solid leave in poodle hair conditioner, and then it's practically magic. Will probably end up buying a second one of these, because our pup goes back and forth between two different houses. He needs one for each house. He doesn't love this comb, but we humans really appreciate a comb like this to un-mat his hair. Once his coat is all silky and fresh from combing, he is much happier too. Just not fond of the process, but he loves the results. Always wanting to play after.

Used the comb on several of my cats.It removes clumping fur but is gentle enough not to bother the skin.I would recommend this item .

We bought this to help comb our long hair cat and it works very well. The ends of the tines are rounded so they are not sharp and the handle has comfortable grip
