My favorite coffee is a medium roast Sumatra sold at my local grocer in whole bean. Unfortunately, the store grinders get used for flavored coffee more than unflavored, so my rich, mellow Sumatra tastes like some awful vanilla pecan cimmamon french roast nonsense. Trashcan punch. I had previously owned the Cuisinart burr grinder for several years. It ground pretty well but was unbelievably loud and very messy. This Hamilton Beach grinder is surprisingly good given the very low price. A quick rundown. It is small-- probably half the size of my old grinder. It sits neatly on the bar above my brewers in the space where I used to keep my k-cups. It is much quieter. It is still loud enough to startle the dog, but not loud enough that it wakes the whole house if I use it in the morning. The grind is very consistent. I've been using a fine setting (espresso) and there have been no bigger bits in the grind so far. It's cleaner. Static cling and ground coffee still present a challenge, but coffee doesn't explode from the cup when I open it like the Cuisinart did. Think "occasional cleanup" not "steel yourself for the mess" because you want fresh grounds. My pod machine died and I replaced it with the Hamilton Beach Scoop single serve drip machine. This grinder is a fantastic companion to that machine. I can make one GOOD cup at a time. With the price for the combination of the drip machine and the grinder below that of most of the other brand name grinders, this is a very good buy.

I am on a coffee adventure! Brewing, frothing, and now, thanks to this little grinder, grinding! It looks great! Works great! Plug and play right out of the box! I primarily use a Moka pot to make my coffee and with a Moka pot, the grind matters. I have been more than happy with the performance of this little grinder!Consistent grind! Not too loud!If you’re looking for a decently priced grinder, grab this one!

Product does what is supposed to do, a bit messy and catches a lot of fine powder during grind which collects in the opening of the cup and not so much on the cup. Could be easier to clean, but for the cost cant complain. Only use it when I need to grind a lot of coffee at once.

Noisy. Really noisy. Not coffee grinding noisy, but motor bearing noisy. But something I can live with.No. 1 problem is that it creates a coffee grounds mess on the counter. The product description shows how you can pour the grounds out of the grinder cup “no mess!â€. But the hole is too small for that. You have to take the lid off, and the coffee grounds stuck to the underside of the lid fall to the counter. The grinding wheel and the plastic construction creates static electricity build-up between the grounds and the cup. This causes the grounds to adhere to the inside of the plastic cup, so to get them free, you have to tap the cup on the counter and grounds are then everywhere. The static is so bad, that the grounds don’t even pour out when dumping into the filter, so again, you’re tapping the bottom of the cup like a bottle of ketchup, and stray grounds are once again, everywhere. I’d return it, but I’m past the deadline. I’ve tried every technique I can think of over the past two months. Can’t get the grounds to come out clean. It’s going into the trash and I’m going back to the simple Mr. Coffee grinder that this one was supposed to replace.

I really enjoy my hand-powered burr grinder (a hot item borrowed by neighbors during the week the power was out after Hurricane Helene!), but this saves me about an hour a month. I just choose the beans I want to grind and mash the go button til they are finished grinding. I don't quite believe the measurements it gives for cups or amounts. The beans get stuck at times. It lies. The grind is smooth and makes an excellent cold brew on my countertop.

First time ever grinding my own beans and I'll never go back to buying ground coffee. It makes a world 🌎 of difference. Love this little machine. It's quick and simple to use.

So, I've never had a burr grinder before. I have to say I like the taste of the cofffee better. And the auto feature is cool but the gravity feed sometimes has gaps with the motor spinnng wildly with no beans to grind for precious seconds at a time. I use Melitta filters that have the measurements on them, so I can see when I have the right amount of coffee and when it hits a blank spot you get less coffee and have to grind more once or twice even. Kinda of a pain. The wife hates it, so I bought a Cuisinart to compare. It holds more beans, and dispenses up to 18 cups. But again, it does the same damn thing.I set it for 16 cups this morning, and it ony dispensed 10 cups worth. It took 2 more grinds, 3 in total, to get it just up over the 12 cup region written on the filter for 14 cups.I think I'll just leave on the 18 cup setting from now on. (Cuisinart) The Hamilton Beech has a more compact footprint but requires adding beans more frequently. It grinds more consistently when the hopper is full. And the wife hates the Cuisinart too. Well, I'm keeping one of them, not sure which one yet, but I like the 18 cup feature of the Cuisinart.UPDATE: Returned this one also, you can't clean it for crap! Ended up buying an OXO which never skips a beat, grinds quietly (Cuisinart was like a freight train the in morning, LOUD!) is easy to clean, no static in the output bin and so consistent. Twice a 20 seconds on fine makes a perfect pot. Also rated #1 on Consumers reports but hey it's a 100 bucks, way more than I wanted to spend, but so nice, pish the button and go!
