These discs are diamonds electroplated on steel discs. My application is sharpening lathe tools, chisels and plane blades. I have tried them on lathe tools, and they work great for that application. They cut fast and leave a nice edge. with a good arbor, there is very little wobble. I use the tool rest support the tool. With very little practice you can get a nice tip profile. I have not tried them on chisels or plane blades, since I will have to make a jig to guide the blades. I like the discs. They are fast and very easy to use

For the price these are working out great. At first I put them on a DIY mandrel on a drill press. Now I use them on a flat lap machine. They work well and much less expensive than lapidary wheels.

I've been using these discs for mostly agate and jasper polishing on a flat lap. The majority of time was spent on the 240 grit with only a few minutes on the rest of the discs. I typically run my lap at around 1000-1100 rpm for the lower grits, amping up to 1200-1300 rpm for the finer polishing discs (1200 grit and above). In all cases, I use a water drip to hopefully lengthen the life of these discs. As all of these rocks have a Moh's hardness of 7ish and above, the discs still wear fairly quickly - you can definitely feel less roughness/grit on the diamond plating after just a few rocks. That being said, the effectiveness is still there, but efficiency becomes a question of diminishing returns as you continue to polish on them. It starts taking longer and longer to get the same finish as less grit remains on the disc.Overall, the price per disc is very reasonable at less than $4.50 per disc. You cannot get that value from any other brand - as you will pay 10 times that for Diamond Pacific, Kingsley North, and similar. You get a shorter life, but I just use the discs for finer polishing as the grit wears down, and just reorder the lower grit discs as replacement. This is a good value and would purchase again.

Good selection of grits. Well made1/2†center holes aren’t compatible with common disc grinders/sanders

Except for a few what look to be cosmetic issues on some of the diamond surfaces, so far they have seemed to work adequately. The only issue with this set is that there is a big gap between the 240 grit wheel and the 600 grit wheel. Replacing a couple of the finer grit wheels like the 2500 grit wheel with a 320 and a 400 grit wheel would make the set more complete. The 600 could then be replaced with an 800 and the 1000 eliminated.

Fine grit tend to tear off the bond causing a grabby polish action on stones and the disc surface shows these irregular areas. Courser grits were ok
