This fan clutch works great on my 2001 chevy blazer. It also fits like OEM on my OEM waterpump shaft and my OEM stock fan. Took me 15 minutes to install. The fan to clutch torque spec is 24lb-ft.This fan is much louder than the stock fan. My old stock fan clutch finally went out after 22 years. This Hayden severe duty clutch keeps my engine from overheating on hot summer days when I let the car idle with the AC on. The temp gauge stays right at 195 all day long, when before with the worn out stock fan clutch, it used to creep upto 210 and beyond when idling for more than 10 minutes. I live in South Carolina and the heat in the summer is brutal, and it doesn’t really go below 32F in the winter, so this clutch really works great for me.When I do cold starts, the fan fully engages, but when I pull out of my neighborhood, the fan disengages and stays at 20-25% engagement just like the stock fan clutch would, so once you are moving it isn’t loud at all. When I stop in traffic, and get going again, the fan would stay engaged for a little bit until I go above 20-30mph, which is normal, since when your not moving, it needs more airflow to stay at the correct temp.If your fan stays engaged all the time with this fan clutch , you got a defective fan clutch. This fan clutch behaves like OEM. It’s just much louder when it needs to cool down the engine, and it’s only louder because there’s a lot more Airflow with this clutch. Stock clutch when fully engaged is about 55-60% of the waterpump speed, but this Hayden severe duty clutch is 70-80% when fully engaged.I am 100% satisfied with this clutch, and I would recommend this fan clutch as an OEM replacement.

Some reviews complain about the noise. It's really not that serious. Yes it's a little louder than normal but only for the first 5-8 min until the engine warms up then you can't hear it anymore. For the price and it's performance, I highly recommend this. My 03 Silverado doesn't overheat anymore.

I looked long and hard for this because no store carries this anymore. Every truck I've ever had, I equipped with one of these. Now this is the only place to find it. Works perfectly, as always. Drops your coolant temps on those massive road trips or high stress environments where you have to move a lot of air quickly. By doing so, it increases your AC efficiency and makes it cooler as well. This was a very tough find for my 03 Avalanche and I'm telling you now....GET THIS!!

It's smaller than the OEM but works great. Not much louder than OEM and quickly quites down. Have not noticed any drop in mileage, but then again you don't buy 3/4 ton for gas mileage. Keeps engine cool and happy when towing.

Needed to replace the fan clutch on my '98 GMC Sierra. Hayden makes good stuff; I've had previous good experiences with their fan clutches and transmission coolers. Hayden makes their stuff ...at least this fan clutch ...in the USA. Overall this is an excellent quality part that comes with good installation instructions. If you aren't going to put the fan in right away, pay attention as to how you store it. Keep the clutch sitting on the fins with the large nut upwards; don't set it on its side either. This is to keep the silicon "fluid" in it's proper position until it is installed. I think there is a marking on the box or something stamped on the clutch itself. This Hayden works as good as the original GM unit (which was probably made by Hayden). I have not noticed any undue fan noise that some of the other reviewers are experiencing ...but I haven't had it through the winter yet. I installed the clutch mid-summer and live in the Southeast. My truck does not have either the heavy duty cooling system or any tow package. You will need a very large open end wrench or large Crescent wrench to remove and tighten the nut. Using a fan clutch tool can make this job a snap.

Had problems with my truck over heating with the plow on it with a factory replace clutch, this moves a lot more air than stock and fixed my problem
