Works exactly as stated.I don't understand other people's complaints about the hole being too small, or the ring not being large enough. The hole is plenty big, and there is no issue with steam getting to the food. As for the ring size, the dimensions are not only in the description, but the title of the item too. Maybe it wasn't when they purchased it. Who knows.This states hand wash only, but I threw it in the dishwasher because I hate hand washing things. Aluminum will discolor (it turns grey) in a dishwasher, but I don't care. It came through just fine (as long as you don't care if it turns grey), and it fit nicely in a plate slot.

I bought this for my bamboo steamer, so I can use different pots under the steamer to hold the water. This ring is just big enough for my standard steamer size, but it's wide enough I can use several different pots for the water, which is great. It's easy to store with the steamer, easy to use, and it does what it's supposed to do. Very little steam leaks from the system when I use this ring.

If you use different pans or have a gas stove you need this to protect the steamer. This works great.

Does the job, and just fits our steamer and pot. One of the edges is a little sharp, and it’s thin and light, so I feel it’s perhaps a little over-priced. But there aren’t a lot of options that I found to ship next day.It does have one nice feature—engraved on one side of the ring is: THIS SIDE UP or something similar.

I love that this allows me to use my bamboo steamer on any pot that I have. Very good quality and sturdy. I have used it many times and no rust. Recommend.

For some reason, my instant pot steaming basket fits in this ring as if it was made for it. With that, I have my enclosed rangetop rice steamer. Which, side note, this basket also fits perfectly within my air frying setup on my instant pot, so it does double duty. The pot is a six quart Amazon basics enameled cast iron. Which, pretty much perfectly fits the steamer ring. I don't know how this all worked, but it is awesome. I haven't even bought a proper bamboo steamer yet, but I'll get around to it..ha

Unfortunately the postman tried to force the envelope into my mailbox. It was bent and scratched.A "DO NOT BEND" sticker on the package would have been helpful.I tried to straighten the ring, still looks crooked but kind of works now.

A very good purchase to use with a bamboo steamer. It fits over a lot of different size pans and pots and it allows the pan to be filled with more water which won't touch the bottom of the steamer. It is brilliant for gas hobs as well as it prevents the sides of the steamer from scorching.

Ordered this Jun24 and also an 8 inch bamboo steamer. Both arrived Jun26th intact and undamaged. This ring made of aluminum well finished (but not polished). One side is marked 'this side up', the outer lip contains any condensation that may collect, helping to direct in toward the middle and drain back to the heat source. The inner lip allows drainage as it is bent downwards and also helps to keep the ring centered on the heat source such as a pot of appropriate size. The outside diameter of 11 inches checked correct, the ring's annular flat width measured 1.38 inches and does not include the thicknes of the outer lip (0.10 inches) or any of the inner lip curvature. The inner opening measured 7 inches diameter. I expect it to last a long time, and could put it to use in other cooking applications (with a convenient lid) such as reducing liquids for thickness. The 8 inch bamboo steamer fits quite nicely.

Bought this to go over an old wok. I'm not sure if it's my wok, but it doesn't fit the wok 100% so it's not quite level. However, it still does the jobThis isn't a problem as the ring can be used on many other pots
