Size:
This Herm. Sprenger stainless steel dog chain collar has round links and is designed for dogs with the neck circumference of not more than 21 inches (53 cm). Overall collar length is 24 inches (60 cm) with 3mm wire gauge.
Important:
It is especially important to choose a correct size. Consider your dog’s head size as well when selecting size of the collar - collar slips over the dog’s head and ears and is not adjustable.
Functionality:
Round chain links effortlessly run through the O-rings creating a loop and easily slip over the dog's head and ears. Depending on the connection with the leash the slip chain acts as a training choke collar, behavior correction collar or an ordinary dog collar suitable for everyday activities.

High quality stainless steel dog choke chain made in Germany. I have several Herm Springer made products for the horses as well as the dogs. You can feel the weight in your hands and it chokes and releases instantly for better communication between your hand, leash and collar. Don't waste money on cheap overseas choke chains. Spend the money and improve the communication between you and your dog. Quality training products really do make a difference. I've been using Herm Springer training collars and horse bits for over 30 yrs so I know the difference it can make.

This is my second Sprenger collar. Still have the original/first one that I got 25 years ago and have used on two prior dogs. The only reason I purchased this one is because my new puppy has a much smaller neck right now and the first collar is for a full sized dog. Will be switching to the first one when she is more grown.

The collar is slightly smaller than advertised. The 16" is about 15 1/2". The size issue was mentioned by other purchasers but for me it was just fine as I have a 25 lb. terrier that just barely fit a store bought 14" collar and this 16" inch is a better fit. The links are larger on this collar and the rings are also larger. The main thing is the stainless steel material. Store bought collars have lately been poorly plated and the chrome layer wears off quickly making them poor choices for long term use. If you allow for a small difference in actual length you should be very happy with this collar.
