We have the sweetest little puppy that was spooked easily when we first got her. It was recommended to us to get a martingale for safety on walks. She has now gained a lot of confidence and likely could go without one. However, we love that she has more play in her collar and it doesn’t fit snuggly when she’s walking well on a lead which is most of the time now.Unfortunately, martingales are very difficult to find in local stores and even online, hard to find in her size. Most are too large and bulky. Or the width is wider and doesn’t fit well. This one is the perfect size for her. It’s slim but strong and has a softer webbing. Not sharp on the edges like other brands.We do not use this as a correction or punishment collar, but as they are intended. To keep her from slipping out of a collar and nothing more. I would not use this collar for corrections as it’s quiet and gives no feedback to the dog which isn’t fair to him or her. The metal ones give a sound where this one would only choke if improperly fitted for punitive measures. Do take care to remove a martingale during play with other dogs as they can get caught easily in the other dog’s teeth. And never leave a martingale on unintended. They fit loosely when properly fitted and could get caught and create a hazard. Use a flat collar for identification instead.

Super cute collar!Notes:- Measure your dog's neck before ordering - what I would consider a size Large in most brands seems to be size Medium in this product.- I do wish the medium came in a 1" width.- The material is somewhat thin. This is probably essential for the martingale section, so that the material is pliable enough to release tension and return to its full size, but I would have liked to see the rest of the collar be made of a sturdier nylon. I think this collar will look worn and fuzzy before too long.- The buckle can be locked, which is a new feature to me.- Price seems fair at $12. But for my dog's main collar, I'm happy that I spent a couple extra dollars on a Chinook & Co breakaway collar (some colors sold on Amazon under the Petsafe brand name).My use case for this collar is for when my dog is supervised on a tether in the house. I have a tether set up in a main area so my puppy can hang out with us without getting into things. My puppy doesn't wear a collar in the house, and I like that this one can easily slip over her head when I want to set her up on the tether.

This was exactly the kind of collar we wanted. The 1-inch wide ones are kind of large and look a little silly on my medium dog's neck. I also feel like they bother her because they are so wide. So we got the small size of this which expands to 17 inches max, and the small is only 3/5 inch wide which is nice and small. I think it does the job and doesn't really make a difference in the operation of a leash. The added buckle I thought would be annoying, but it is actually really nice. It allows you to take it off faster or if you can't get it over her head at that moment for whatever reason.

Be sure to measure your dogs neck. My dogs neck is 17.5 inches which normally puts her between a Medium and Large, so out of habit I got a large but it is to big. So it seems to acctually run true to the size chart! The colors are vibrant and it seems well made. It has a buckle snap with a lock on it. It seems comfortable, which is just one reason I buy martingale collars. You can leave them a little loose but still be able to use a leash without tightening it. It's a great alternative to those painful looking choke collars! It prevents the dog from backing out of the collar. I normally don't get ones with plastic buckles but we will see how it goes! Overall recommend!

Beautiful collar with intense colors. Martingale is preferred by many as it will help ease a dog from pulling. Has a unique locking clasp that is strong. Easily adjustable.All the pet products we review on Vine are tested and evaluated and then donated to local animal shelters. When it comes to leashes, one of the first things we look for is quality of materials and qualities of the stitching. If you are buying a collar, you do not want it falling apart or unraveling as soon as you put it on. We also inspect and tug the clasp to see if it will hold. Sometimes when walking a dog, that dog may pull or tug you along. If you need to put the dog in heal you do not want the clasp to breaking if you must forcefully put the dog in heal. At this point, based on all the above, we then estimate if the product will hold up to repeated washing. We also evaluate leashes with the same criteria: quality of materials and machine stitching. This is paramount for determining the longevity of the products. Once our assessment is completed, we donate these products to local shelters. They are usually in desperate need of collars and leashes to send home with the adoptees. Having a new collar to put on makes a big difference in showing the dog and sending them on to their new forever home.

Really like the design and vibrant colors on this collar, but the collar was definitely bigger than expected. On my 40lb dog is the medium collar at full tightness and it is still loose around his neck. The tightening part of the collar is nice for stopping him from pulling on walks, but I do wish I had ordered a smaller size. The fabric is very smooth as well and doesn't seem to be irritating the dog at all.

Very cute product and me and the puppy both love it. Easy to clean and take care of and it is adorable.
