This keeps our crystallized honey back to the temperature of the hive. Very important especially in the winter months

Stopped working after using it for a couple weeks. Did great up until the weather got to be below 30° outside. Will never purchase this again. If I could go back in time I would have never purchased this.

I used this for melting honey that had crystalized in a 5 gallon bucket. It is important to not overheat the honey or it will loose quality. The adjustable controller on this allowed me to set the temp where I wanted and slowly melt the honey. The blanket spreads the heat out evenly and avoids hot spots. It would be nice if the dial had more visible markings so I could see the adjustments I was making better. The straps that hold the blanket on are good but not arranged for a 5 gallon pail. I tied some shoe laces around it to hold it on the 5 gallon bucket. I tried the blanket on different drums and found a 30 gallon was the one it fit the best. This is expensive but it does work well. I would not buy it again because it doesn't work well with 5 gallon buckets.

I bought this item to heat crystallized honey in 5 gallon pails. It didn't quite fit being a little too large, so I had to be creative strapping it to the bucket. But it worked amazingly well re-melting the honey. Now I think I might try and adapt it to heat up some full frames of honey I need to extract and it's a little chilly out. Good value!

I would give this four stars if it fit standard 5 gallon pails. The strap is sewn on in a fixed location and cannot be used on standard 5 gallon pails. I had to use a separate strap to hold the pad in place. I did contact the seller and ask if it was okay to overlap the pad. They promptly replied and said that it was okay. This would fit much larger diameter containers fine. I tried it on a 5 gallon pail of hydraulic fluid and after several hours it had warmed it nicely. Heaters like this have to heat fluids slowly in order to not damage plastic pails or possibly the material being heated. Plan on several hours to heat whatever is in the bucket. The ambient air temperature, and winds, will also have an effect on heating times. Besides the strap being relocated so that it fits standard buckets in the U.S. I would like to see two straps, one near the top of the pad and one near the bottom. This would allow the pad to be held in place on tapered buckets. One strap in the middle does not do a good job of holding the pad tight to a tapered bucket.
