Designed to fit a standard-sized 5-gallon metal pail, the Wax Blanket will safely and efficiently melt your wax or glycerin into a usable liquid form with minimal attention on your part. The heating elements in the blanket reach from the bottom edge to the top edge and provide a targeted and even heat distribution. Simply wrap it around your bucket, plug it in, and check back every few hours to see how the progress is going. The WX05 is an insulated band-style pail heater specifically designed to fit a 5-gallon metal bucket or pail and safely and efficiently heat up your wax or glycerin. The heater is built for use with 120 volts AC, drawing 1.46 amps thus producing 175 watts. It has a preset thermostat set to maintain a blanket temperature of 200 ºF / 93.3 ºC and a product temperature of 185 °F / 85 °C (± 10 ºF / 5 ºC). The WX05 Wax Blanket should never be used on a plastic or poly bucket as the high temperatures generated from the pail heater will melt the plastic bucket.

This fits perfect around a 5-gallon metal bucket. It heats to 200 degrees which is high enough for paraffin and waxes that allow a high scent concentration. I mainly work with paraffin and it melts great and gets a nice liquidity at 200. It does not heat so high as to ever cause worry for degrading wax or hitting a flash point. It was just what I needed to take my hobby to a higher level by increasing production. The blanket is fairly thick and it is durable. It is not anything that needs to be coddled or worried over - it looks like duct tape and it is very thick like that.I can easily recommend this product to candlemakers who are looking to increase their production.

While this particular power-blanket has a preset thermostat of 200 degrees which make it is ideal for heating up buckets of waxes and soaps, I've actually been using it to help warm up the buckets of paint we're bringing in from outside right now while we're remodeling.I don't leave the blanket on so long that it heats the paint up to 200, but instead put the heater on them just long enough to thin the paint to a usable state. It's freezing outside right now and when we bring in buckets of paint it's so thick it takes several hours before it's usable. But when I wrap the Powerblanket around each pail, it warms up in less than a half hour with some stiring. Works great!
