I purchased this 5C collet to add to the set of collets (mixed brands) I already own. This 5C collet is well machined. It has no noticeable run-out and holds 7/8" round bar very well. I will not hesitate to purchase additional HHIP collets if I find myself needing additional sizes.

This collet is definitely not the best quality, but you get what you pay for In this case I needed to hold some 3/4 brass stock in a low precision application. It suited my needs for a very low cost.

I used to buy the LYNDEX 5C collets for the last 15 years, this time the collet will not go all the way in to engage the threaded end. The threaded end of the collet measures 1.250 inch but the collet end measures 1.259 inch. The LYNDEX cost $31.28 + tax + shipping. LYNDEX is made in India.Rating is only for fit, function is TBD.

I've used several different 5C collets in my tool grinder that runs on an air-bearing assembly. This one is the most accurate so far. Internally it is 100% concentric which is the most important criteria. It is better than some I've bought costing 3-4x more.
