I bought these this year and last year. they are the genuine filters from Honeywell.I flip the filter every time I fill the tanks. in dry winter time, the humidifier runs for very long hours everyday. There are days when i fill both tanks twice in 24 hours. it is set to about 42% humidity.The filters perform well. I change the filter once it starts to hardens between flips. this is about a month. I figure it is worth the money to keep the house at a good level of humidity. good for us and the wood furniture etc.it is too bad that that my unit is no longer available.This is lower price than Honeywell site.strongly recommended.

After buying filters from a box store for years I decided to give these a chance and they’re great! I actually prefer these to the wire ones. I usually have to flip the old ones every week but it’s been a few weeks with this new one and it’s still not showing any signs of scaling or drying out. Not to mention they’re way cheaper than the box store!

Works exactly as it’s supposed to, wicks water and adds humidity to the air. You should flip them every couple days and replace them often

After years of purchasing these filter I finally figured out how to make them last much longer, everyday flip the filter that way it will never get dried out or crusty on the top of filter, I have no problem doing this small thing, I also once a week clean out the entire humidifier I poor vinegar in the bottom and let sit a couple hours and I also put about a 1/2 of vinegar in each container and fill to the top with water and let them sit along with the bottom, I also very carefully run water through the filter on top edge and sometimes I’ll add a very tiny amount of deluded dish detergent and squeeze that through and rinse, do not wring the filter out just press up and down when laying flat, you have to be extremely careful or it will stretch out or fall apart, do this once a week the filter will last 3 months, use a bacteria water preventative also. If your filter is already crusting on top throw that one out and put in a new one once it’s crusty you can’t start the process I’ve told you about, I if you flip a crusted filter it will just turn the water yellow and put it into the air which you never want to do.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my order this time -- Honeywell has dramatically improved this filter! At first I thought I had ordered the wrong filter as it had a blue outer lining that was not on the previous version. The old version daily dried out on top, and lasted less than a month before becoming hard and crusty, a problem as these filters are a bit expensive. (I must note that we have hard water.) The improved version has remained wet clear to the top even when I didn't run the humidifier for 2 days due to good environmental humidity. It is clear this improved filter will last much longer as well. Thank you Honeywell for your customer concern and integrity of product! Your excellent humidifier is now even more exceptional.

These filters with the blue outside hold their form better than the newer ones without it.However, I got my latest batch from the Warehouse and they have a smell. Thankfully the smell goes away after a day or two, but I don't think I'll be buying these again from the Warehouse. C'est la vie.

I recently installed the new version of this humidifier filter. I wasn't overly happy with the previous version as it tended to rip apart at the seam after about 3 weeks, one time even after two. They also got pretty disgusting and clogged up after about 3.5 weeks. So far, I'm really happy with the new version with the blue wrapping around the outside. The first one I've used hasn't ripped and seems as tight as when brand new. So far, this one has lasted six weeks already....much better performance. Also, it has discolored or become clogged up with "gunk" yet either. I bet I'll get 8+ weeks from this filter. I hope they all work this well. So far I would recommend these filters.
