I've been getting by without a set of files for far too long. Using drill bits, or sand paper, or grinding discs. It seemed every project I took on would have had a use for files, but I always talked myself into getting by. Well, I finally decided it was time and boy, HOWDY! am I sorry I waited so long.First of all, lets be clear - there is a clear difference between these and a high-end file set. But for a cheap, layman who is just looking to get by, these are GREAT! I've used them on steel, aluminum, brass, wood, and stone with great effect. They are holding up just fine. The handle is nice, but I only use it occasionally when it feels right for the job. I suspect it will be the first thing to break. But that is okay because I can make another, and because the files themselves are great. Overall, I'm very pleased.

First off, if you use files often you may be as disappointed by this set as I was. If you're just a hobbyist / DIY'er that doesn't use files often then this kit may work well for you. That said, this file set has the best handle for interchanging files that I have ever used. Simply pop the file in and it's locked in by a quick release mechanism. Press on the two unlocking tabs to remove the file to change to a different one. Many other types of handles rely on friction to retain the file and wear out quickly, resulting in the file often coming out of the handle. The actual files themselves though aren't anything special. They're not incredibly sharp, load up pretty quick, and really aren't anything that adds to productivity in any sort of fabrication environment. The small jewelers files in this kit load up in a few strokes, so I don't even consider them useable. The included file brush works quite well, which is a good thing since you'll need it when using these files. Worked with these quite a bit when fabricating a battery box for my golf cart. And while the handle made this kit convenient to use, I found myself going back to my decades old Nicholson file that cut better and more precise for the work that I was doing. If you're a DIY'er that only occasionally needs a file, this set will likely work fine for you.

If you're a serious DIY-er, you will want to have some metal files on hand. There are so many applications where a file might be needed.I love this kit because it has just about every kind of file you might need, in all kinds of sizes. I can't tell you how many times I've needed to file something down but the files I own were too big or bulky for the job. This kit has many smaller and more narrow files that will make small jobs or jobs in compact places easier.I love that it comes in a handy zippered pouch. My other files are all just tossed in the tool box with wrenches and screwdrivers, making them harder to locate when needed. This case keeps them all together in a nice package.Very reasonably priced for a whole system/set of files.

This is a nice way to keep a set of file organized. I am always putting files in different places and not able to find them when I need a specific one. This case includes a built in strap that allows it to hang it from a hook on the pegboard or a nail in the wall. The large handle is comfortable to grip in the palm of my large hands and the 4 files lock in well into that handle. The small handle is small for me, but it fits well to hold between the thumb and first 2 fingers.So far, I have just used the set for some light metal filing so I don’t have any feedback on durability but will update this review if I encounter any problems.

Already used this to file some (aluminum) rails for a shower door that needed to be curved, and also just some random messing on some steel in the garage to double check — but yeah, these are nice files! And it's a crazy complete set. Like, after I was doing my testing I thought… oh now I just need some sort of scraper to CLEAN the files. And then realized that was what the wire brush right there was for 😆 (and that worked nicely too).The big files latch into the big tool, and the little files have a little chuck that holds them tight. All plastic but really pretty decent feeling. These are currently listed at around $25 which seems like a great value — really nice to just have pretty much every type of file (at least the ones I can imagine as a hobby DIYer with basic home/orchard/equipment projects) all in one pouch ready to go.

This set includes a good assortment of files that seem to be of average, reasonable quality. There is a lot of very small files, but they are a lot of variations in shape.

Overall this seems to be a decent set. I've only used them a few times but what I've seen I like. The quick change handle for the larger files works good. The handle is far more comfortable than dealing with the bare rat tail handle on most files. I've used needle files beforehand they either have no handle or an extremely small one. The interchangeable handle in this set feels nice in my hand. Having a case to keep everything organized including a brush to clean the files is extremely nice. It means if you have to work on something away from your workbench, you just grab the case and go.
