Though out my adult life I've owned multiple Husqvarna chainsaw (still own 3) and another Husqvarna snowblower (ST230 currently in for service after 8 years of use). Overall I've been pretty happy with the product line. I order this ST227 last week and took delivery today. Great turn around by the dealer. I assembled it and it runs fine, a little cold blooded to start.....ok. The issue I have and it's a big one is that the auger stays on all the time. I can adjust the auger cable, but I can only add tension I cannot back off the tension. Husqvarna customer service is a chat which tells me nothing additional from what my owner's manual about adjusting the tension in the cable (see above) I wonder if the auger belt is slightly too small (1/2" overall in the length?) If the belt was longer I could always add tension and be fine. Right now I'm running the snow blower pointed into a snow bank with a zip tie on the auger control hoping I can get the auger belt to break in a little. This is disappointing a best. I expected more out of this name brand.After running the machine for about an hour there is no change. Maybe the belt that shipped on it was out of spec, I don't know, but yes I'm disappointed in this situation.
