I bought this to replace the door handle that was there. The old one finally broke, and it was hard to lock, you would have to pull the door tight, and slowly turn the lock as it seemed very stiff and stuck in place. This new one, I put on the door in less than an hour, and I love it. The handles are easy to use, and all the components I needed were there to make the changing of it super sweet. The lock fit perfectly in place, and while I did need to screw in a new hole for the top part of the lock, I used a screwdriver for the most part in putting it on. Now, I have a door that locks super ease, a handle that actually works and lets me in the house, and I don't have to worry about it not catching the little clip to close the door. Best part of all, it fit the holes already there so I didn't have to make any more. Love itDon't pay attention to all the old holes in the first photo, that was from the first lock my husband tried to put up, got frustrated, then realized it wasn't going to fit, the holes in the door were wrong in the first place.

I have an older but very sturdy screen door. One day/evening A misguided friend of mine somehow managed to break the original lock set that came with the door. I searched and searched to find the original style of lock set but this time in a matte black rather than the brass that came with the door. In my search I bought two different styles of lock sets but neither one properly fit my door. On the day that I was sadly returning the second lock set through divine intervention I somehow came upon this product! Trust me I looked a long time for this matte black lock set and could not believe my eyes when this showed up on my screen. I immediately purchased it (at a great price) and awaited it's fast arrival. It is very solidly built and has a deep matte black finish. The install went well and the lock set and dead bold work great. I guess the one thing you can take away from my story is to never give up what you are looking for, because when you least expect it BOOM there it is!!!

We have a 100-year-old house with an old oak door & metal storm door. It's an unusual arched shape so extremely difficult to get it replaced. In the meantime, the storm door handle needed to be replaced and I wanted a keyed lock. When we're away, if someone were to leave the storm door unlatched, the wind would catch it and torque the door...again. This type of locking handle is not easy to find. We tried multiple ones from Menards, but none fit the door, or they weren't keyed.This lock was perfect! It's sturdy, it fit the door and the holes. I can securely latch it, or I can latch and lock it from the inside or the outside. No more worries about the dog pushing open the door and getting out.

I rarely write reviews but am so happy with this product that I feel compelled to do so. I have a 20 yr old Forever Door brand storm door that needed a new handle but had trouble finding a replacement until I came across this. It fit perfectly except for one exception which was easily corrected. I don’t have the hole for the anchor screw but rather a larger hole for a through bolt. I was able to slip a small piece of wood inside the door between the two openings for the handle anchor screw and the screw for the inside deadbolt to grab on to. I highly recommend this product as it was easy to install, looks great, and is a lot cheaper than replacing the entire door.

This is the second one I’ve tried, thinking the first one was just faulty, but this one doesn’t work either.First the good. It fits perfectly on our storm door, it is exactly the same as the original one we had, bust silver instead of hideous brass/gold. It’s sturdy and beautiful, but there’s one problem, we have to turn the handle up to open the door.When facing our house the handle is on the right side of the door and when installed, the handle is able to turn both up and down, but turning it down does not engage the latch, it only works when turning the handle up. Obviously no one knows to turn the handle up so our kids keep thinking they are locked out of the house. Although it’s funny, it is going to end up breaking something eventually. We have had to duct tape the latch just so we can get in and out. I’m not sure if there’s some secret we’re missing, but you cannot use this on a right side handled door, will only work for left when facing the house.I was thrilled when I found this, but for $70 and after reading all the reviews and seeing pictures of people using it on right sided doors, I really hoped it would work for us. We’re keeping the second one because it looks nice and I can’t find another but we’ll keep it duct taped in order to use it.

I bought this Storm door handle with the keyed lock to replace my weathered door handle that didn't have a keyed lock.You will definitely have to drill some holes in the door to accommodate the lower part of the door handle with the lock , if you don't already have a keyed lock on your storm door.There are plenty of shims and assorted lengths of screws and other parts. I did have to cut the connecting rods for the door latch and the one the goes between the inside and outside door lock. Not a big deal with a hacksaw and file.I like the looks and how it functions. I would recommend this set to friends and family.

I was expecting a little bit more quality in a hardware device with locking features.Not a direct fit for my door but made it work. Thickness of metal could have been thicker. Not really happy with purchase but it does lock my door.

Item is of better quality than the original. Easy to install. Nice that they include screws and hardware for different thickness doors so you don't have to hacksaw stuff during installation. 2 BIG thumbs up on this product.
