At first I was amiss that these were narrower and longer than the plugs that came with the iDOO iG-310. I inserted them into to the basket and they fell way to the bottom. BUT, after they soak up some water they swell and fit perfectly. It is best to soak them first, then insert. I like the longer length as it will allow succession planting by making contact with a lower water level. The photo shows the size before soaking and after.

I needed extra Growth Sponges for my hydroponic garden so I ordered these and was shocked at just how many came in a box. It's ALOT! But I will definitely use them since I am using them to plant and start all of my kitchen herbs. My advice is make sure you buy a box of these (along with herb and vegetable seeds) before starting any new hydroponic project.

These at first seem too skinny and too long. Just wait til you wet them....they fill out and they reach longer into the water than the old ones! Love them!

We bought these as replacements/spares for our two Idoo branded hydroponic growing systems. We stuck with these as some of the generic brands seemed to have mixed fit issues across various growers. They fit both our growers well but cost nearly 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the original kits. Seems like allot of money for a disposable sponge that others sell at allot less money.

Rip off! These claim to be compatible with the Idoo grower, but they are too long and narrow.

The iDOO Growth Sponges will need to be replaced as your seedlings germinate and grow too large for the iDOO Hydroponic System. It is really not a good idea to try and reuse them, so I was very happy that they can be bought separately.

The sponges themselves work great as a growing medium. Could use a fatter sponge for my cup holders to fit snug. Will check next time.
