If you went to high school and had a shop teacher with a flat top hair cut, with black framed glasses, and perpetually wore Ben Davis shirts, then you have used one of these dustpans. Heavy, robust, and capable of handling anything which needs removal from the floor, even if the debris may pose a slight radiation hazard, nothing will stop this pan.Stamped out of a single piece of steel and painted gloss black, it is also embellished with a big ‘W’ or ‘M’ monogram if your name includes those letters, or it is a feature which maintains structural integrity. Either way, I would choose the answer that impresses the ladies, and go with that. There is also a stamp which has become somewhat rare these days- “MADE IN U.S.A.â€.There is also a keyed hole at the end of the handle so you can hang up the pan and avoid stooping to pick it up, although that’s exactly how one is typically used, so I’m a bit conflicted about this feature. There is a pair of dimples on the rear of the pan, and the front is angled down creating a slight ramp when sitting flat on the floor. The weight of this steel implement allows one to sweep into the pan while it is unattended, where the plastic counterparts slide around. Oddly the steel is thinner than most plastic pans, and allows for finer materials to be removed more completely. It’s a great performing product, made in America, and reminds me of Mr. Johnson (the shop teacher) yelling about cleaning up and playing less ‘grab ass’. Just like Mr. Johnson, this dustpan is a classic.

Works SO MUCH better than a plastic dustpan! I will be telling anyone about this, as I cannot imagine wasting more time and effort on some cheap plastic thing that will not even last that long.It does on occasion get a thin line of crumbs or dust beneath the lip, but it's usually a much smaller amount and less often than it would be with a thermoplastic rubber lip on normal plastic dustpans. It is made with steel, which means it is more durable and better for the environment than aluminum, and less toxic (It is obviously less toxic than petroleum-based (cheap plastic) dustpans and way better for the environment). This item is also more reusable than a plastic dustpan. Although it might seem more expensive, and seem like ultimately that it is not worth the price, this will presumably last a hell of a lot longer than a plastic one, and could potentially save money over your lifetime.

These are getting harder and harder to find, a good sturdy steel dustpan. And the best part is it’s made in USA.

It's made in the USA which is nice. Your typical once in a lifetime sturdy metal dust pan, wish I could have found one locally. Can't say the near $20 cost is justified, but it's sad ordering from Amazon is the only way to get one. Shouldn't be any more than $8 if you ask me....Biden's America at work....

This dust pan works really well. It makes it easy to sweep up everything without having bits go under the pan the way my last plastic one did, plus it is so sturdy that it ought to last forever. 4 rather than 5 stars because the first one I received didn't sit flat on the floor and would wobble, making it impossible to sweep neatly and easily, so if you're like me and receive products sometimes and let them sit around until you need them, which may be outside of Amazon's return window, check to make sure that it is flat to the floor first so you aren't stuck with a defective product.

I've been looking for an old fashioned sheetmetal dustpan. I wasn't sure these are still being made. One reveiwer awarded only three stars because the front edge didn't have a rubber or plastic scoop lip. This worried me a little. I thought maybe the front edge of the sheetmetal might not be perfectly straight enough to fully contact the floor. I went ahead and ordered a pair of these from Amazon for $7.63 each with free shipping. That three-star-reveiwer is dead wrong about wanting a plastic front edge. This front sheetmetal edge perfectly contacts the floor and allows dust to be swept in cleanly in a manner that you would never achieve with a plastic portion contacting the floor. Why didn't that unhappy reveiwer just buy one of the commonly available plastic dustpans. I have one of those atrocities and I'm going to give it away or throw it away now that I have this perfect pair of Impact 4212 metal dustpans. This reveiw by Keith, the JeepShootist
