I've had an electric fan that mounts in the back of the stove for years. This fan is quite noisy and moves very little air. You can turn it up but noise increases and still very little air movement.Got this heat driven fan for Christmas. It is virtually silent and moves the heat/air 10 times better than my electric fan ever did.If you have a wood stove and don't have a fan like this you are missing out.

We were skeptical but this fan actually works, you can tell a big difference in how fast the warm air is pushed out into the room. Great value and have already told our friends who also purchased it and love it.

Cool fan, 2 minute conversation piece. It has a pad at the bottom that creates electricity to run a little electric motor. It doesn't really move air but it's silent and looks cool so it can stay. Bending the blades isn't an option for better air flow since they'll hit the body of the fan. I think the motor could turn a more aggressive fan though. It's high speed, low torque.

This fan does start spinning with minimal heat on stove top. But even when it's sitting on a 450 degree stove spinning at full speed, it just doesn't move any air. I can put my hand right in front of the spinning blades and cannot feel air movement, even though they're spinning pretty fast. It's a cute, quiet little device that accomplishes nothing.

Today's pellet stoves don't get very hot or hot enough to trigger this fan to blow with any speed I have two different style stoves a stand alone upright and a fireplace insert this fan barely moves when I put it on either one and the fireplaces in stove run twenty four seven in the winter

Purchased for my husband for his new shed he built. Perfect size purchased the heat activated fan to go with it. At first, I thought it may be too small once it was set up. It is absolutely perfect and he loves it. Five star.
