Well, it worked after my installation. There is plenty of wire and it fits easily within the fireplace blower box. It works and I didn't need a second jog to pay for the silly thing. It is as advertised.

I had a light switch on the wall that controlled the blower, but the blower was either off or full blast. Not good. So I purchased a plain box cover and drilled a hole dead center to accept the shaft of this control and put the whole business in the wall. Now mom has a blower control (on, off, variable speed) on the wall instead of having to get on her knees and fiddle with the control inside the fireplace. Who wants to do that?The part has only been in service about 6 months so I cannot say it is durable at this point, but it was easy to install and is performing exactly as mom hoped it would. The knob is black; it would be cool if you got a few color choices (black, white, almond ...) for the knob (for visible installations), but that is just a nit.

My factory switch on my wood stove blower lasted six and a half years. I bought this as a replacement. It lasted twenty two months. I ordered another switch but a different brand at half the price. We will see how it works.
