These welding clamps are small but work small intense jobs I do. Welding on small parts is hard enough and almost not possible to hold with hands while they are welded together. I've tried other brands and have had a terrible time getting them release but Irwin clamps are well worth the money.

I was expecting a larger clamp than what this is (I think I assumed a 4" jaw capacity, rather than lenght), but probably shouldn't have given the price.It still gets the job done for clamping stock under 5/4" to the table on my drill press but I had though it was going to be big enough to clamp down a 2x4 at least across the short side.

I've used various sizes of "Irwin Vice Grips" for quite a while. They are very rugged and I like having the swivel pads to minimize marring the work item.
