I was able to get this used Strat from the Amazon warehouse because the guitar was not available and was back ordered . It was nearly perfect except for a 3” line under the finish next to the bridge running opposite way of the grain.. It also had fingerprints on the back of the body under the finish. So for someone this was a dealbreaker. I understand that if you are concerned about the details. I’m a player and I’m more interested in the playability and quality of the instrument. I’m stoked because this was the discontinued version with the Fender style headstock. This guitar looks so much like the original Strat from 1954. It plays great without being setup, but I’m changing strings, doing fret work and intonation etc. I’m looking forward to making this a relic-ed version. It’s already got some flaws and I will be adding some new ones to this beautiful guitar! Maybe changing the tuners and bridge to a worn look. Sanding off some polyurethane around the edges. Use a sharpie to add some wear on the fretboard. The neck is very straight and a solid piece of maple all the way through. The pick guard may get changed. The knobs and pickups are getting a little stain for patina. I’m keeping the Destiny pickup’s because they sound really vintage.I’m blown away by the price and quality of these guitars! This is my 4th IYV. I’m never stressed about taking them on a gig because I don’t have thousands of dollars into them. I’ve owned Taylors and Gibsons so I’m familiar with expensive guitars. Ibanez and Epiphone were my favorite budget brands until I discovered IYVs. The bottom line is they are great guitars for the price. And if you’re not concerned with cosmetic issues and you love to tinker around with stuff then you should definitely buy them!

The guitar sound is very much like my American Deluxe Strat, sounds great, pickups are great. I adjusted the neck and the bridge saddles for lower action. I leveled a few frets to remove some string buzzing that the lowering of the action caused. I lubed the guitar nut to help it stay in tune and put on new strings on. The first weekend after I did this work, I brought it to my 4 set gig and played it first set. I had my American Deluxe Strat on stand by in the event of any problematic tuning issues or any kind of break down for that matter. I ended up playing this IYV strat copy all night. It was a fun guitar to play and the looks are very nice (always wanted a sunburst strat) and of course it sounded the part as already noted. The guitar finish is awesome looking but it does come with some imperfections. I notice 2 small dips in the finish in different places, these are small but you'd never see this on any Fender Squire, Mex or American models. I also noticed in one spot there is some kind of black mark that appears under the clear coat. This would have to be sanded down to the wood and repainted and re cleared to fix. Its definitely not worth doing the work to fix that. These are things you typically see when you buy lower costs guitars. What makes this one worth the while for me is that with a little work its a very nice guitar as long as you can live with the slight imperfections. One thing to note is the 5 position slider feels a little cheap to the touch but it does work. The volume and tones feel fine. The tuners work ok and didn't cause tuning issues but I plan to put locking turners on it for faster string changes. As you can see I had to go through a little work to make it a great guitar. For the price its actually awesome. I wouldn't recommend this for new guitar player unless they know how to setup a guitar or unless they are willing to pay someone to set it up. This is my 3rd IYV guitar and yes I would buy another one.

I find it nearly unbelievable that you can buy a Strat type guitar for less than $100 with this level of quality. It compares favorably against the Squier Classic Vibe line. The finish on mine is perfect, very nicely painted and glossy with no notable defects. The gloss on the fretboard gives it a premium feel. The gloss on the back of the neck is not very thick or sticky, at least to me. The tuners feel good and hold tune. Mine had no sharp fret ends, good action out of the box and no fret buzzing. Its shortcomings, for me, are the club like neck which you could easily use as a weapon if you tire of it as a guitar. And the pickups and/or electronics do not produce a very loud sound. It's very much on the quiet side and not at all impressive with high gain. For softer music or light gain and a loud amp it's probably fine but be prepared to change the pickups and electronics, which fortunately is easy with Strat type guitars. Even with these shortcomings I'd gladly buy it again. It's a well-built guitar that was playable straight out of the box and didn't have the usual budget guitar problems. If you don't mind the chunky neck, or are willing to sand it to a better shape, I'd recommend this. I'm totally happy with mine.
