I bought this for my 98 Sentra 1.6L. I bought online since neither AutoZone nor Advanced sells the whole distributor - they only have the coil.It solved the engine hesitation at high rpm problem and got rid of obdii code about the primary coil.It worked wonders for a month or so; then, there was no spark. I first suspended a defective cheap distributor and regretted getting parts from unknown sources. Upon removing the cap, it turned out that the single screw holding the rotor to the shaft fell out. I reinstalled it, and a month later, it was loose again.I just reinstalled the screw with some Loctite red. Wish me luck.

The distributor arrived in ONE DAY!! excellent. Perfect fit, the engine started right up. The previous distributor from an auto supply company lasted about 14 months and failed. This item was a fraction of that cost- but that being said I am a bit apprehensive at how long this part will function. Hopefully for the remainder of the car life. 1995 Nissan Sentra. Thanks!

This distributor is available from a number of sellers on Amazon. My general comments apply to all. Specific comments only apply to part as supplied.GeneralThe screws attaching the distributor cap to the body are both incredibly soft and over torqued. A distributor cap is a serviceable part (together with the rotor arm under the cap) and it should be removable without the need for special tools or too much effort. You should not have to remove the distributor assembly to facilitate removal of the distributor cap. I was forced to use vice grips to loosen the three screws and use quite significant downward force to completely remove the screws. I was forced to use the old OEM cap as the deemed the replacement unserviceable.Both the Nissan OEM cap and an after-market cap I purchased to replace the cap on a replacement distributor came with hex screws which allows simple untightening/retightening.Manufacturer: Spend the extra $0.10 and use a suitable screw.SpecificThis distributor engages with the camshaft using a machined slotted attachment. Within seconds of starting the engine it died and refused to restart. I had incorrectly assumed the timing was incorrect so I went through the stages of making small adjustments until I found a position where the engine would restart. I checked for a spark. None. So I removed the distributor cap (thanks to those hex screws), cranked the engine and nothing. The rotor arm didn't move. Taking the distributor out I saw the cam engagement had sheared in two with the pieces sitting under the rocker cover. So I had to take that off and fish out the broken pieces making sure there wasn't nothing left behind. This is real Master and Commander time for those those that have seen the film.Nothing else to say other than shockingly poor quality. There is very little force required to drive the distributor so I'm at a loss to understand the failure.I'm sure there are better quality products available and would suggest that's what you purchase.

In less than two months, the bolt, inside of this distributor holding the rotor, came out and my car was stopped at the traffic light. They need to do a better job of securing the bolt, possibly with some thread lock. I had to go to a local auto part store to get another distributor. As I was replacing it, this distributor, off the engine, was rattling with a loose bolt. I had to take it apart and tighten the bolt, and reinstalled the distributor to get my car working again.BUYER BEWARE If you buy one of these, remove the distributor cap and tighten this bolt before you install it.After a few months of use, the same screw fell out of its place multiple times and I fixed each time with a short Philips screwdriver. I managed to use some Loctite to hold the screw in place. Hope to have it last longer this time.
