The base and wheel guards have the appearance of chinese pot metal, but description says cast iron. Tag says made in Taiwan, which gave me a lot more confidence in the quality than if had said made in china. Motor hums nicely and doesn't bog down when you apply pressure, no unbalance type vibration. I want to remove the wheel cover on the wire wheel, but it is not clear how it's held on. I'm going to have to take the wire wheel off to see behind it, how it's fastened. I noticed the price has jumped fortytwo dollars in the month since I purchased.

I have an 8 inch jet grinder that is powerful and runs very smooth with no vibration I needed a second one so I purchased the six inch one plenty of power good quality it doesn’t run as smooth as the 8 inch and has more vibration. Good grinder for the money but I’d rather have spent a little more and bought another 8 inch grinder. The 8 inch grinder is an older model and heavier. I’m sure the weight makes a difference And the older model might have different better quality on internals.

The assembly of this bench grinder was easy. Instructions were easy to follow. Ran very smoothly upon start up.

I held off on getting a bench grinder for years b/c I assumed that it would be too noisy to get much use since I live in an apartment. Turns out that my microwave makes more noise than this thing. Extremely easy to set up and to use, and it's built like a tank.

Pretty impressed with this. Pulled the wheels and ran a dial indicator on this and had less than .0002 runout on the shaft. Stones provided weren’t balanced very well so had small but acceptable vibration. Really like the cast metal housings for vacuum mount.
