Keeps reeds secure. Sometimes a little hard to open, but reeds are not going to fall out. Satisfied.

It was difficult to open and close for my son and he did not want to keep it. Overall the item did look good for protecting the reeds

It's built like a little plastic brick, has the best ventilation I've ever seen, is very compact. It will not get scratched up, bend its hinges, or peel fake leather. It will always look good. The reeds snap snugly into the "ribbon" slots and stay put. The reed-holding slots are integrally molded into a one-piece vinyl panel integrated into the hinge pin. It's impossible to crush. For less than $14 (as of this review) you cannot find a better bargain for a 6-reed case. The ONLY con: It's so well ventilated by generous slots in the front and back lids, you'll have no luck adding humidity inside the case, unless you partially tape over the vents. I live in humid east Texas, so that isn't an issue for me.

The individual reed holder slots were extremely too tight to easily insert or remove the reed. Luckily I used an old reed that wasn't playable, to test this case out with. It was almost impossible to remove the reed, without damaging the tip of the reed even testing it out in both possible directions!It takes me a couple of hours, start to finish, to make an oboe reed, and the cost of the supplies, to worry everytime about safely removing a reed from this storage case! So I returned this item, the next day, for a full refund. Thank you.Wendy Lamirande
