This cool-season grass seed contains Texas bluegrass and Black Beauty turf-type tall fescues.

Rake
Rake your lawn vigorously to remove any thatch or debris. This step is essential in creating good seed-to-soil contact.
Spread
Use a hand spreader for small areas or a rotary spreader for larger areas to distribute the seed across your lawn.
Water
Watering the seedlings is imperative to their survival. Water for five minutes, 2 - 3 times a day for the first 4 weeks.

This grass seed sounded perfect for our Florida lawn. Was I wrong. Not a single strand of grass grew. We planted it during the rainy season thinking that would be a great time to get it started. What a waste of money. Bought a different brand and it is coming up well right now. Doesn't even deserve one star.

I’ve been using a variety of Johnathan Green grass seed products usually Black Beauty but switched it up to the heat and drought version late in the 2024 season due to the sun exposure and heat my front lawn gets. I overseeded on top of what my landscaper put down. Grew in like a thick carpet looked amazing. We will see how it holds up in the summer next year.
