Updated again: I have the red one at home, and brought the dark grey container to work, but am not able to use it in the microwave at work because for some reason it sets off an electrical storm in the microwave - as if I put metal in the microwave, but I didn't. At first I blamed it on the Popcorn setting and thought the microwave had an error, but now I can't use it on any setting without this happening. I have never had the problem with the red one when used at home - only with the dark grey one.Previously Updated Review: This product is a little stiff when it first arrives, which causes the lid flaps to flip open while popping and popcorn ends up all over the microwave. However, after the first time it happened, I worked the lid flaps at the crease several times, and really folded them down towards the center of the container, so that they would stay closed better. This is something that could have been done prior to first use, had I known what the issue was. I am so glad I fixed the issue, because there is no other "single serve" popping container on Amazon, that I could find. The popcorn comes out really nice and crispy/crunchy/light. Since I'm using it at work, and trying to be healthy, I use a spray dispenser to spray the popcorn with olive oil, then salt it directly in the container. Very tasty! (p.s. at home I use a spray dispenser with butter when indulging). So the container is the perfect size for me to enjoy popcorn directly from the popper. Yes, there are quite a few kernals leftover, but for me that is fine because if all of those popped, this would be a little more than my idea of a single serve. And they warn you not to use less popcorn than the fill line or it will burn - so those kernals are helping to fill what I would have as a void if I was popping fewer, if that makes any sense. I love this little thing.Old Review:The lid flaps won't stay down while popping, and popcorn was flying all over the microwave. I had to stop the microwave a few times, and the stopping and starting the microwave to try to put the lid back down or find some way to cover it with a paper towel didn't help the popping process. Ultimately the popcorn burned, which has only happened to me when I stop and start it in the middle of popping. So, I won't be using this at work again.

This product does not work. No matter how little of popcorn kernels you use the top does not stay close. Popcorn will be all over in the inside of your microwave. Even before the popcorn pops the top opens up.I use it to hold popcorn that I pop using something else.

Nice concept, but sometimes the flaps will blow up when the corn starts popping, and then you have a microwave full of popcorn.

I wanted something small, for one single serving of popcorn, dishwasher safe, that didn't take much cabinet space. These do exactly that, but the direction could use a little adjustment. The directions recommended using 1oz of popcorn kernels, that's too much popcorn. My first attempt I filled to the handy measuring line. The second time I used my kitchen scale to verify that I wasn't overestimating the amount of kernels. Like other reviewers have said, the flaps pop open and popcorn flys all over the microwave, when I used that much popcorn. With a little trial and error I found about half that, basically a tablespoon, works better. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately depending on your perspective, that means it makes just slightly more than a cup of popped popcorn.

This is perfect for making one serving of popcorn. I haven't had problems with it opening too soon but I did notice that one flap tends to pop open more readily when prepping it. I just close that flap first and the other flap seems to hold it closed until the rising popcorn forces it open. The taste of the freshly made popcorn can't be beat!You may need to use a little less popcorn if you use a good quality popcorn that pops up nice and fluffy. Place the popper in the center of the carousel, if your microwave has one, or all the popcorn that spills out WILL end up in the corners of the oven and under the carousel.DO NOT LET YOUNG CHILDREN USE THIS UNSUPERVISED. This gets extremely hot. We let it sit in the microwave for a couple of minutes after turning the oven off so we don't get burned. Also, our microwave overheated and shut off for a few minutes when we made two batches of popcorn back to back.

Works well in the microwave. Is a great individual serving bowl. Quality product, works as intended, and just a fun item to make yourself a popcorn treat!

The idea is nice. Have a small portion of popcorn ready in 2 minutes. This product does not deliver.The silicone design is not closing well, 70% of the time it opens in the microwave and then it's a total mess.Even with small amounts of popcorn, it will get burned. Believe me, I tried all the times and different settings meticulously. But rarely you get a batch worth eating.Very disappointed

I'm a committed JosephJoseph brand groupie, and have many of it's products that I 100% love. This one is, sadly, a fail—not sure if the one I received is defective or if it's just the product design itself. The flaps just do not stay closed, defeating the entire purpose of this product. They immediately open as soon as the popcorn starts popping, spewing kernels and popped popcorn all of the microwave. If the flaps stayed close, this would be 4 stars—perfect size for individual snacking, dishwasher safe, aesthetically pleasing, and a small footprint. I've resorted to not closing the flaps and just putting the black popper upside down on top of the orange popper to create a very tall lid to contain the popcorn and prevent them from erratically escaping all over the microwave. Yes, that fixes the problem...but defeats the purpose. I do not recommend spending your money on this.

The popper works really good once you have the amount of popcorn and time figured out. Excellent for one serving. The cup does get very hot in the microwave

In een handomdraai een portie popcorn, maar je moet er wel bij blijven. De dekseltjes gaan tijdens het proces wel eens open en dan moet je ze weer even sluiten. Anders zit je magnetron vol popcorn en maïskorrels ipv het bakje
