I ordered this collar to go with my dog's purple leash. The collar differs slightly in color from the leash which was a bit of a disappointment since they were purchased together. However, this is not a deal breaker just an irritant. The collar is quite serviceable; it is well made of sturdy material which thus far has not ripped, developed loose threads, or come apart where sewn. The stitches are uniform and have remained intact. Being stitched with reflective thread is a bonus; when I first saw it in the dark I was quite surprised how bright the reflection was. The plastic buckle is simple and easy to use. The lock on the collar adds an extra element of security. The metal loops utilized in the Martingale design are sturdy and do not pose the same problem plastic ones would. On one of those loops his leash is attached as are his ID tag and other identifiers. If this loop were plastic the potential for snapping would be worrisome. With the metal loop there is no cause for concern. The width of the collar appears comfortable for him, and the nylon fabric has caused no chafing or irritation. We have received many compliments about the matching collar and leash. I like all the details of this product. This collar is strong, durable and all its features are functionalI like that the webbing is lined with firm foam fabric which adds to your dogs comfort.The stitching is well done and reflective at night, another great feature.The hardware appears strong and durable.The matching dog lead matches exactly and is also a very good product.I recommend these productsVery good value for money for the added feature of martingale training addition.

My dog is a hard fit. She is. right between medium and large. I had the mediuma and it was a tight fit getting it on her. The large slips on easily but, contracts enough so that I can maintain control when needed. It reflects well at night and so far, is strong enough to hold up to her strength. I like the locking release so, there are no accidental slips.

I like this collar, I have a Great Dane who likes to pull when walking, the collar gets snug when she pulls but she never chokes, it gives her a gentle reminder and she stops. Stays latched even though the lock on the latch is easily unlocked by her when she scratches or rolls around. Collar is durable, does not fray. Definitely worth my money. Liked it so much I bought my other Dane one as well.

My dog eats wood for a living. If he could, he would eat the entire house. In addition, he rubs up against rough surfaces and the collar continues to hold on. Well worth the money.

The collar is sized right (if they send you what you ordered LOL) Plastic Buckle is fine as you would have on a lifejacket or B.C Vest. Those who complain about plastic buckles are quite perplexing since the collar would cinch tighter as the Canine would put pressure on the buckle? Besides what kind of Canine have you created that needs some kind of Chain with metal buckles? My Heeler has the one with the chain that cinches and the chain gets worn and is not by any means S.S. A few trips to the Bay or Ocean and when I wash the collar when we get back puts off tarnish black stuff, hence me getting the Nylon one this time. That coupled with the Aussiedoodle hair length would get matted or tangled within the links.The collar has a buckle and a (for what I do not know) lock/switch for the Buckle? Maybe for the Ultra smart dog who can not only articulate their paws to unclick the buckle but could NEVER figure out the switch on it, that locks it. . . LOL Prob get another for my Heeler when she needs a new one. The chain is a bit noisy when she lays at my bedroom door early in the morning that and the chain tarnishes aforementioned. Nylon is great, coupled with the name tag (sold by another Vendor on Amz) that slips on it so no jingle, jingle as they move around in the night.

I've been on the hunt for a wider martingale collar for awhile I'm the colour orange specifically but unfortunately this was a huge let down.I used for a trail hike with a client dog today, 20lb dog but when I stepped on the leash by accident it completely came apart. Thankfully I always have a backup on clients so I was still attached via my backup clip to a separate collar while this one dragged on the ground. If I had trusted it my client dog would have taken off into the woods.Do not recommend!
