I purchased this collar for a dog that habitually slips out of a normal collar. It was working perfectly we no longer have that issue pulling while on the leash decreased somewhat but she's a puppy and that kind of stuff takes time. Then deer season started and she went after deer and the color broke. This happened outside of the 30-day refund window. Amazon helped me to contact the seller and they gave me a full refund so now I will be purchasing a new color. I really like it when a seller stands behind the merchandise that they're selling. This collar seems fine for a big dog. All sizes are 1" wide. Chain is heavy. All in all this collar is NOT for smaller dogs!I ordered small for my terriers in a 14" neck size. The collars is received were WAY WAY. TOOTHICK, WIDE & HEAVY FOR MY 15-30# dogs. I returned them

It was a perfect fit my medium dog so I would go for a large for a medium dog. American staffordshire Terrier would be more comfy with a large. Medium is a perfect fit and I would of preferred more room for his collar.

The chain quality is poor if you have a dog that pulls even a little bit. My dog immediately broke this chain and went running out into the street.
