How to use Japanese woodworking hammer
1. Chiseling
Great for hitting Japanese wood chisel. It enables accurate woodworking with a chisel, such as cutting, mortising, chopping, paring and shaping, etc.

Ever want to assemble, adjust, or disassemble those wire shelving racks? If so then you want this. I’m an engineer and wanted this to help do just those activities for a move coming up. Plan worked flawlessly. Instead of hurting my hands I used the mallet to easily pop the shelves apart and keep moving. Then when putting them in the new location pop pop pop bang bang no muss no fuss. Perfect tool for the job.

Now... for the price this is a great mallet. Mine came with the head detached from the handle. No problem, I simply glued it back on using some wood glue. Easy fix and knowing Amazon, had I returned it, it would have simply ended up in a landfill. I'd buy it again if needed.

Very nice mallet but why do you put name and barcode stickers on the handle that won’t peel off? I literally had to use my orbital sander to remove stickers on a brand new nice wooden mallet.

Balanced ok and useful up to 15mm chisels and 42mm planes. Need a bigger one for hardwood use. Happy overall but may get steel one also.

Neither the mortise in the head nor the handle are tapered. The head was loose in the mallet I received and there is no way for it to slip back together such that is stays tight. The head and handle are made of very hard oak (great!), so they are not deforming/wedging together at all and there is play in the mortise (wider than the handle). That leaves the head loose and slightly wiggling. I've inserted a soft-wood wedge to keep it in place and now it works well. Expect to fiddle with this tool before using it.

I use this for my wood plane and it does the job. Perfectly sized for smaller blocks. Handle is pretty thin, but no issues so far.

A very handy tapper. I've used this to hammer to seat the end cap on stove pipe and inflicted no damage. Not quite heavy enough for wood chisels.
