We purchased for our son for Christmas. So can’t say how it works yet. However I was impressed with the packaging and how it came. We got a great price during BlackFriday sale. Looks nice and feels durable. Once my son gets a chance to use it if there’s any issues, I will come back and edit the review.

Instructions were somewhat easy to read I’m not done setting up fully but the rod is so pretty and feels relatively smooth for a beginner the quality feels good for price it should be able to do its job well

Great rod for what you pay! I bought the 6'6" medium rod with 2000 reel as my 2nd rod. Rigged it with 10lb braid and 6lb leader. While trout fishing today, I caught something massive on my ultralight that snapped my line. Threw this bad boy out there and caught my personal best: a 9.2lb carp! Rod and reel held up like a champ and now this rod has earned its keep. Thanks Kastking!

Decent smaller bait caster for finesse presentations. A good all around set up for small crank baits and spinner baits. Fit and finish are superb, the white on white and blue accents are quite handsome. No cons to speak of in the 20 or so times I've fished with it. Like all my fishing purchases, I will do my best to review later on down the road.***Edit*** I've had this combo now for 3 months. I felt it justifys additional review now. I've caught over 100 fish with it. Mostly fishing with spinner baits and crank baits. It's a better setup for smaller spinner baits like the double willow leaf pond magic ones. Also better for smaller shallow running crankbaits. I had one birds nest after I got it dialed in correctly. I say this because the controls are kind of clunky. They have no audible click during setting. So it's trial and error to get them back to correct setting if they're messed with. That's the only negative so far I've found. My review hasn't changed regarding over time. It's still a great value combo.
