I'm very happy with this. I had been a bit worried about build quality, but the fit, finish and functionality of this combo is top-notch. It's super portable as it telescopes down to a very compact size. Hardly takes up any space in the car.

I bought this set up to carry around in my backpack while riding my dualsport Yamaha in the forests around me. The rod and reel casts and reels-in nice and smooth. I'm very happy with it. My only complaint would be the carrying case it comes with only works when you take the reel off the rod. It's not that big of a deal since it comes with a clip that covers the rod eyelets and keeps the rod collapsed.I definitely recommend this rod and reel for the money.

This model eliminated the screw on handle butt. On my first edition rod, I lost the little cap immediately and the rod kept peeling off the eyelets. Good pack rod.

Took this combo out twice and the reel has completely locked up. Oil and grease didn't help, suspect a broken gear.

Overall This is a great collapsible fishing rod and reel (so far) . There is really just one negative about this rod, and that is the first rod guide is a little tool close to the rod, making reeling in line a little lunky. You can only feel it when reeling in a weighted or dicing lure, but it's not really a problem... Just more of an annoyance. Rod will lift a 2lb bass out of the water no problem. Reel is powerful and drag is smooth during a fight. For the money... It's a great travel rod to always keep in the car... In case you need to do some emergency fishing! I recommend.
