Kastking Radius line spooling tool has a unique compact design which gives you a quick and easy way to spool both casting reels and spinning reels without twisting the fishing line, and without removing the reel from your rod.
The Radius fishing line winder spooler is designed to position the filler spool parallel to the rod for spooling casting reels. This orientation permits line to unroll from the filler spool and roll directly onto the casting reel spool without twisting the fishing line during the process. Our unique tension band system allows for quick adjustments to the line tension being applied during the spooling process to ensure the line is tight on the spool. An integrated slide lock makes it easy to quickly adjust to wide or narrow spools.
For spinning reels, the filler spool is positioned perpendicular to the rod which allows the fishing line to un-coil from the filler spool and coil onto the spinning reel spool. This prevents the line from twisting as it is being spooled onto the spinning reel. The adjustable tension band is used to apply the ideal pressure to make sure the line lays down correctly on your fishing reel and it is not too loose.

Im brand new to fishing and spooling reels is an absolute PAIN! I don't mind learning my knots but spooling? I could use some help lol. This thing is incredible. It's extremely light, fits on pretty much any size rod you got, and the bands included to set your own tension are great. Spooling is usually a 15 minute ordeal for me, this knocks it down to not even 5! AND if you're out on the water and need to respool, you can! No need to go back to the truck! If you're not 100% sure how to use it, watch KastKings guide on YouTube. Order this thing! You will not regret.

Initially I bought the basic version but the box was damaged so as I was about to exchange it I noticed this version had the scissors. It was only a few dollars more so I decided to get this one instead. Looking for scissors that cut braid clean is about $10, so this worked out.The good:It is a pretty compact set and can fit in a pocket of my tackle box for easy storage.The scissors are pretty sharp and cut braid clean.It comes with two straps that you put around the spool and that helps manage the line and gives tension as you reel.Pretty decent and easy to use.The bad: it didn’t fit above the first guide on the rod (wasn’t tight enough for a good fit), but the way this goes on I really didn’t need the line to go through the first guide anyway, I just gave it a bit extra tension and the line goes through a built in guide so it all worked.Final thoughts: this is a nice addition to the tackle box and makes loading a reel pretty easy, and it comes with scissors which is a bonus.

In fact, it’s actually kinda great. The only complaint is that it is made from a fairly weak-feeling plastic that I don’t expect to last for more than maybe two or three years, but considering its low price that’s not really a big deal.When I first opened it up and looked at it I almost just sent it back, but I had a bunch of spinning reels and a couple bait-casters that needed new line so I put it to use. I still haven’t done the bait-casters yet, but it worked really well with all of my spinning reels. It made putting line on the reels an easier and quicker process than it has been for many decades. I would like to see it have more rod-blank options because the smallest diameter hole on this thing is still a little too large for very light and fast action rods, but being able to tighten tension in two separate ways helped making putting line on reels on small, thin rods fairly easy.I would recommend this to you if you are in doubt, but there’s also sturdier ones around if you’re willing to spend a larger amount of moolah. If you want one that is economical and does its intended job then this little bad boy from KastKing is worth your investment.

I really wanted to like this product. I'm a big fan of Kastking and still am. However I found this line spooler to be subpar. I did like the scissors as they were compact and very sharp. The spooler worked ok for my baitcaster but was a bit more problematic on my spinning reel. And I only have one baitcaster so most of my respooling would be on spinning reels.I had to watch the video about 3 times to fully understand how to use the spooler. But I found the tension band that goes around the spool to keep tension on the line to be a bit troublesome. No matter how tight or loose I made it, the tension band got in the way.Ultimately I chose to send it back.

Everything I've purchased from Kast King has been better than expected for the price. The same is true here. Made putting line on my reels much easier and with less twist. Works well for both spinning and baitcast outfits. I'm going to try it on one of my fly rods just to see if it helps get more even spooling than my typically feeble attempts to do so.

Another winner from KastKing and well worth the asking price to simplify the process of spooling line onto your reels, whether they're spinners or conventional/baitcasters. Unlike other solutions, this one breaks down into a nice tidy package that's easy to stash pretty much anywhere, and the little bands it comes with to control line tension are excellent for keeping partially used spools of line in place - I actually wish they sold those bands separately, because I really wouldn't mind having a half-dozen more on hand.

Overall I was happy with the line spooler as it is quick to set up, use, and put away. The adjustable tension straps are helpful and keep the line from getting tangled and making a mess. It comes with two elastic nylon tension straps which are decent quality and should last for quite a few years. The scissors work great and the sheath it comes in is a nice addition. The instructions are easy enough to read and follow but I could see how some could find them difficult so watching a YouTube video could work too. The quality of everything is good and I expect to get many years of use from it. I'm happy with this purchase and glad to add it to my fishing gear.
