After reading some of the negative reviews on this tool I was hesitant to purchase it. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked for reattaching the upholstery to the seat base with the hog rings. The spring action holds the hog ring in the plyers to ease installation. In this application you need to load the hog ring, pre-punch a hole in the material, and push the plyers into a hole to lock the hog ring on the seat base rod. You need straight not angled plyers for this job. I first tried a $20 plyer from Lowes that were worthless. These hog ring plyers did a great job for me. I was not able to accurately measure the old hog rings because they were cut and bent from removing them. I thought 3/8 would be the correct size but it turned out to be the 1/2 inch. Having all three sizes solved that problem. I would buy these again.

The clips work pretty great for sealing meat bags. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was it took multiple squeeze of the pliers to get a complete seal. Great price

My only reservation with this tool is the grips didn't stay in place, but overall it worked for me.

I bought for crimping summer sausage casings and it works, but not without struggle. The grip comes loose when squeezing shut and the rings slip in the jaws and may take several tries to make a secure crimp. It is still faster and easier than tying strings to seal the casings, but not the best tool for the job, groove in jaws for holding rings just isn't made correctly. If I needed it a lot more I would upgrade, for now this does work, just not the best.

I have a classic car, over 50 years old, with leather interior, and the front seat is shot! So, until I can decide what I’m going to do, I covered it with a cool comforter, but it kept sliding around. Got the hog rings and pliers and in about an hour, I had a seat that looked like it came from a custom upholstery shop. No kidding. But there was no other way to do it, the pliers and rings were essential to the task! And these worked perfectly!!!
