I bought this kettle a few months ago and tried it out for the first time on August 21. I did make one modification to what was shipped. It came with the 6" temp probe. I know may people would love that but I was thinking it would just get whacked when stirring and replaced it with a 3 " which was a good move. My local brew shop (American Brew Masters in Raleigh) was kind enough to give me some nice store credit for the 6" probe. The kettle was great. It has a seriously heavy duty bottom. Looks like they welded a thick Stainless steel plate there and it took the heat from my burner really well. The kettle has great handles and firm rigid sides. I didn't feel like the valve was about to come off in my hand when I manipulated it. The kettle is very well made with the handles and the bottom plate being professionally installed. This may be your first brew kettle but it doesn't look like it.The kettle arrived extremely well packaged. This thing could have fallen off the delivery truck and rolled a few hundred feet and still been ok. My kettle was flawless and the only nicks will be the ones I put there in regular use. If you are new to brewing like I am (just over 11/2 years) this is the way to go. It's great for 3 gallon BIAB and 5 gallon extract partial boil batches. Having just made my first 5-gallon batch, I now know how much 5 gallons of beer really is. Unless I decide to open a brew pub one day, that's big enough for me.I would buy this kettle again and recommend it highly.

Great kettle. My only complaint is that the valve gets clogged when transferring from the kettle to primary fermentation but that was probably also a symptom of the beer we were making which had a TON of hops.

I use this kettle for Kombucha brewing and it works great. Great size and not too heavy. Solid build quality.I bought a kettle from Concord at the same time and ended up returning that one as the Kegco is obviously made better. Sure it costs more but it's worth it.About the only bad thing I can say about the kettle is that the thermometer and and spout do not come assembled. Not a huge deal but I would have liked to not have to install those pieces. Be sure to buy thread tape to seal the threads on the thermometer and spout otherwise you will most likely have leaks.

This pot is not made of 304 stainless, or any stainless steel for that matter. I cleaned the kettle when I got it, using some PBW. When I went to get it ready to brew tomorrow, there are little rust spots on the bottom of the kettle. Very unhappy, and I doubt I'll buy anything else from Kegco.Who knows what metal this actually is, but it's not stainless.

the O-Rings are hard to get the valves to seal all the way. I have leaks of hot water!
