I use these for cutting everything. Salad, cooked spaghetti. The blade cover is definitely need for the sharp scissors.

Very nice pair of scissors, seems more well made and heavier duty than the scissors that came with my original knife set. Fits perfectly in the spot where my old scissors that broke sat.
