I have used this on 6 of the 2 pound blocks of cheeses without wire breakage. It cuts even so I can easily choose what thinness I want. Also has a grid on it to line up exact cuts. I love this little cheese cutting board tool. One thing I'll admit is the wire that came with it broke on the first cut but it comes with 2 extra wires. Would have been easier to put new wire on if the 2 extras didn't ship bent. The 2 wires are bent to fit in a holder that's provided when shipped. After installing second wire I had no troubles at all. Having said all that I have to rate this 5 star because it's a great design and works well.

Pros - I like the lightweight model. I like the grid. It is easy to wash.Cons - Slivers of cheese will be on the counter when you're done. There are little tensioners that seem to be easy to pop out when you wash it. They are easy to put back in but easy to lose too.No comparison to my old marble one but it works just fine.

This is absolutely ingenious! We eat block cheese and cutting it with a knife is ridiculously silly and time consuming and makes a mess. With this slicer, it’s fast and simple and the cheese is evenly cut. It comes with extra wires, but I can’t imagine breaking the one on it. It’s strong.This is one of my favorite purchases from Amazon and that’s saying something after as many years as I’ve been ordering. I don’t like to think of the money I’ve spent!!😳

Love using this cheese cutter. Works really well.First try I broke the wire by pushing down to hard. 2nd wire has lasted well as I have learned to let the wire so the work and just use a gentler pressure. Love the ease ofcleaning amd uniform cuts! Well made

This is the perfect cheese slicer. It is sturdy and slices all cheeses. Fresh mozzarella slices perfect for pizza time at our house.

It's built well, and is great for most cheeses. Hard cheeses (sharp cheddar, in my case) are tough on it, in that if you're not extremely gentle (slow), the wire pulls out of its crimped end. They brag that it's "50% Higher Fixing Strength" because the wire is bent twice inside that brass crimp. Didn't keep it from pulling out, though.I bought extra wires when I got it, so I've got a few more to go, and I'm looking for replacements that have stronger terminations. I'll update this if / when I find them

This is an excellent cheese slicer. Previously I always used a knife to slice cheese. This slicer makes the job so easy. Using a knife, the cheese always stuck to the knife and made it very difficult to get all slices the same width. I have also used it to slice corned beef etc.
