Snap the KneadAce shield in place on top of your tilt head mixer dough hook attachment and connect the hook to your mixer as usual.
As the dough starts to form, it will climb up the hook as usual, except that now instead of taking off into the nether regions of the mixer, it will hit the shield and bounce back against the walls of the bowl.
A few more minutes of controlled kneading in this way and you will get an impressive gluten developed and ready-to-rise dough. Just place it in your proofing basket, let it rise, slash the loaf with your favorite bread lame and bake.

It does work great. It clips on very well but it is hard to get it on. It does keep the dough from going up past the dough hook. I like that aspect.

This heavy duty plastic guard clips/ snaps onto the dough hook of my mixer. It prevents the dough from climbing up and into the mixer. It unclips easily, and it dishwasher safe. Very mice. My mixer thanks you.

I purchased this as a gift for my partner who often mixes dough for homemade bread in our hand-me-down Kitchenaid stand mixer. First things first, this part fits perfectly and is easy to snap in place! It is also super easy to clean in the washing machine. Secondly, it DOES work. Rather than having to scrape climbing tendrils of dough off the mixer blade attachment every few seconds, it's much easier to simply poke down the larger globs of dough as they crest this shield. It keeps unsightly (if edible) mixer grease out of our dough and makes the kneading process a little more hands-off. However, this would absolutely benefit from being a little wider. It's like the designers stopped just short of a REALLY useful product! For the price, this is still a great stocking-stuffer gift for bakers in your life, but I would be eager to invest in a version 2.0 with a wider shield to make this even more helpful.

Amazing! I read many, mixed reviews, but with my Kitchenaid classic mixer’s dough hook, it is easy to put on, and to remove after it beats up my dough for me. I loathe the dreaded “dough creep†that seems to happen with sticky dough. I’m not sure what other users were talking about, as I was able to easily apply it to the hook and after using it found it easy to remove.

I've been using my mixer to mix dough for sourdough bread, rolls, etc and it was always climbing the hook and getting icky in the attachment area.Used this Friday night to mix two batches of dough and it was a total game changer! No fighting with the dough, no mess. Amazing!

I accidently bought the size for my wife's old mixer. This won't fit the bigger unit as it is bigger. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

this works very well for not allowing dough to move up the hook. I do think it is over priced for what it is. It cleans up well and seems strong so I expect it to last, just think it could be cheaper.
