These snipe nose side cutting pliers (model 26 11 200) feature unique elastic precision tips are stronger and more flexible to withstand twisting and bending without breaking. With a serrated gripping surface, these pliers provide a secure grip with less slipping, and they feature an integrated side cutter for cutting soft, medium, and hard wire. The cutting edges are induction hardened to approximately 61 HRC and will cut medium hard wire maximum diameter 3.2mm and hard wire with a maximum diameter 2.2mm. They're completed by a non-slip plastic coated grip. Cuts soft, medium, and hard wire (view larger). Quality in Every Detail Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long lasting. Because we don't want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look. The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service lifeeven though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this. The rivet of our high-leverage diagonal cutter also has to stand up to a lot of stress. That's why we literally give it backup: we forge it straight onto the pliers. This means extra effort as we have to precision mill the rivet to a few hundredth millimeters. But satisfied users are worth this effort. Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers. First of all, Knipex makes some AWESOME tools. What I love about these pliers is that they do not twist/distort when you use them to twist materials. Great handle covering too. Very solid manufacturing. Amazing quality that should be expected for a Knipex tool.

I thought the knipex craze was a lot of hype. After watching some impressive YouTube videos I have recently been buying knipex when I need some hand tools. Got into a rough spot where I couldn't reach a socket inside an engine with my regular needle nose. The normal size didn't have enough reach, the long reach pliers I own have handles that are too long to get in the spot. Borrowed a pair of SnapOn from someone else to get the job done and decided to get my own short handle long nose pliers so I didn't get in a bind next time. The price on these was better than the snapons and side by side I think these are nicer, (although they are about 1/8" shorter than the snapons from hinge to the tip of the jaw). They've got some special stuff going on over there at knipex factory. The jaws bite like no other jaws, the hinge is solid, the noses don't flex, and the pliers have a satisfying thud when you open and close, they're well built and something special, not like the other needle nose pliers I own. And most importantly they're long enough to fish a spark plug socket out of a spark plug tube :)The problem is I used to be satisfied with my old pliers, ignorance was bliss I guess. Now I have been exposed to how nice a good set of pliers can be and unfortunately have felt the need to replace my toolbox tools with knipex a little at a time. So thanks a lot Knipex.

Kind of pricy. So I lurk on Amazon until a model gets a price cut. I got these for around $25. Which is comparable. I now have 11 pair of Knipex pliers. They're so good I can no longer blame my tools for failures.Case in point. I bought a picture frame. I needed to remove the little metal darts that held the mat & glass. I was using a perfectly fine pair of no-name 6" long nose pliers. The darts would slip in the jaws to where I nearly stabbed my hand a couple of times. So I used my Knipex 8" long nose pliers . The darts never slipped, squirmed or bent after that. To the point that I could reuse them. What's the difference? I don't know!Nowdays each batch of steel is a custom order. Induction hardening uses magnetism to precisely heat metal for hardening. Whatever they're doing, they have it figured out! To me it seems like alchemy! They're so remarkable, last 4th of July cookout I slipped a 7" pair of Knipex Cobras into my pocket. A group of us were talking shop and drinking beer. I pulled them out, "Did you ever see what these can do?" They were all impressed. One of them was a diesel mechanic. One was a master plumber. They're going to get some of those.I am slowly replacing every pair of pliers i own. When i try to give my old ones to one of my sons, they ask " What's wrong with them?" I answer Nothing, they're just not Knipex!

After having had a few pliers available from the local hardware chain and finding them bulky and a bit stiff, I decided to get these - tehy are everything you expect in a top quality product - jaws are well machined and close nicely, hinge has just the right amount of tension and the grips are comfortable without being silly

Nice and small, but plenty strong - exactly what you want out of a good needle nose.
