I've been relying on the Knipex Pliers Wrench (86 03 180) for almost two years now, and it's become an indispensable tool in my toolbox. Here's what makes it a standout performer:Versatility Personified: Replaces Multiple Wrenches: This pliers wrench eliminates the need for a whole set of wrenches. It adjusts smoothly to fit various nut and bolt sizes, saving you time and effort searching for the right tool. Gently Does It: Unlike traditional wrenches, the pliers wrench grips surfaces securely without damaging them. This makes it ideal for working with delicate fittings like cable glands, where marring the surface is a concern.Efficiency at Work: One-Handed Wonder: The easy one-handed adjustment allows you to quickly change sizes without fumbling for multiple wrenches. This is a huge time-saver, especially when working in tight spaces. Stays Put: The secure locking mechanism ensures the adjusted size stays fixed, preventing accidental slipping and ensuring a proper fit every time. Metric and Imperial: No more guessing! The wrench displays both metric and imperial measurements, allowing you to tackle any job with confidence.Additional Strengths: Built to Last: The forged steel construction feels incredibly sturdy, and the quality materials ensure long-lasting performance. Comfortable Grip: The handles are designed for comfort, even during extended use.

I bought these about 8 months ago, and they’ve been right with me every single work day in my shirt pocket and many regular days. I work facility maintenance at a weld plant (mostly HVAC, electrical, controls, etc.). With these, my trusty extended reach Klein 6 in 1, and my Cobra ES pliers, there’s very little that can’t be disassembled or adjusted with ease.Anyway, they are perfect for maintenance. I use them to turn things, crush things, hold things, bend things, you get the idea.. The flat parallel jaws are perfect for not completely destroying what you’re working on. The fit and finish are exceptional. The smoothness of operation is exemplary (especially smooth after a few months of regular use and oiling), I often find myself playing with the pliers like a fidget toy. I’ve even used them as a hammer in a pinch a few times and it didn’t hurt them, they’re extremely tough. The button adjustment is quickly and easily done one handed, just sit the lower jaw in place, hit the button, and let gravity situate the top jaw. The plier action makes them like a faster wrench as well, loosening the grip is usually enough to come back and get another grip on the nut or whatever you’re turning so you can go without slowing down much if at all.I find the 180mm to be a perfect balance of size and power. The 250mm are a little heftier than I’d like for EDC, and it’s pretty rare in my work that they provide much advantage, but they definitely have their place as well- the team works exceptionally well for taking apart fluid lines and plenty of other automotive tasks. I rarely even bother looking for my standard wrenches anymore.10/10 I’d replace these if lost without question.

I have a few Knipex pliers and quite a few adjustable wrenches that I’ve accumulated over the years. Once this set came in the mail, it is all I reach for when doing car maintenance, plumbing work, and general DIY repairs around the house. The build quality is amazing and the warranty that backs up such a product I think definitely warrants the price point. I ordered the 10” and it is the perfect size for pretty much every job I’ve used it on so far. Large enough to offer good leverage while not being too cumbersome. I highly recommend buying this tool and I expect to get a lifetime of hard use out of it.

Excellent product that makes wrenching on anything a lot easier as you won’t be having to go back and forth to your tools to grab a different size wrench over and over. The “ratcheting”/reset action of these pliers is great, as is how it “locks on” to the object and the fact that you really only need to press/pull on the top handle bar. If you’re spinning a long bolt out you can really just about twirl one finger to rotate the pliers and bolt! Buy yourself a pair today, you won’t regret it!These and Knipex Cobras are great to keep in your back pocket when working on something because they will turn most things you’ll ever need turn and they are the tools that I would recommend most for anyone, whether you’re a grease covered battle-scarred mechanic or a retired English professor they will be very useful tools for you to have readily available!

Awesome tool for residential plumbing, working with delicate and expensive trim finishes that are easily scratched.

This is a very unique tool - 'Pliers Wrench' is a good name - it works exactly like a perfect fit wrench (no effort needed to hold it closed, it holds solid), yet opens and adjusts like pliers. The way this is designed is simply brilliant. Think of two flat/smooth jaws that always stay parallel, not only when the handle is held closed, but also as you open/close it. More than just as a wrench, this is the perfect tool for compressing things, because of the way the jaws always stay parallel, like a mini vice that you close. The leverage system not only lets you apply a tremendous amount of compressing force if/when needed for some applications, it also makes super easy to use as a wrench, because it takes essentially zero effort to hold the handles closed, while using all your force to turn the nut/bolt, unlike other things like channel-lock pliers where you always have to squeeze the handles together hard, and the jaws still often force open a bit when trying to turn a nut.The pliers aspect make these very easy to adjust to any size, though the push button take a fair bit of force to push/hold in. It also has size markings, imperial and metric, which is super handy, no fidgeting if you know the size you need, but the markings are very faint and can be hard o read. But once you have the general size set, these give you a perfect wrench with zero play, which means better/complete surface contact, which means more force, evenly applied, no stripping nuts/bolts, and no matter if the nut/bolt is a hair off theoretical size, you have a custom fit. In addition, it gives you a sort of ratchet system, just like pliers would.Basically, you'll never use an adjustable wrench again (they are annoying things if you even use them at all), never use channel-lock type pliers on nuts/bolts or flat surfaces again, and in most cases, use this instead of fixed wrenches, except in cases where you know the sizes and don't need extreme force (these work better for extreme turning force because they fit the nut/bolt a hair better, even better than a box end wrench), or where you need the smaller overall size of a fixed wrench. The material and overall quality is excellent, way above average, definitely professional-use quality, but the first pair I received had an issue where the two jaws were ground perfectly flat, but not parallel - I checked this under use/force as well, just in case the positioning changed (it doesn't). The second pair I got was much better, but still not perfectly parallel (fairly close). Obviously parallel jaws is critical for a wrench, it seems their grinding department and quality control are lacking in an otherwise high-quality product. But I decided to keep them, as they are still pretty usable is many situations, and I had to wonder if a third pair would be any different.I highly recommend these, but I would also suggest checking the ones you receive have parallel jaws. An out-of-parallel jaw is only an issue when an extreme amount of force is needed to turn a nut/bolt, and this is exactly what these are made to do, and can do easily with the amazing design of this tool, so return/exchange/complain if yours are not parallel.
