My boyfriend owns this set and after trying them at his house, I fell in love with them so I ordered my own set. I'm tired of the wrenches that I have to screw to size and these channel lock pliers enable me to quickly set the width I need. The handles are silicone and have a great grip. The button at the top allows me to "slide" this to the measurement I desire.The current price of $27.19 plus tax is reasonable for this as it comes to $13.60 per plier plus tax.

I had a pair of dewault button press pliers and they sucked. Broke within two weeks of using them. These things feel like they are not going anywhere for a while. Worth the money

Love these channel locks. Never liked other brands as much. Easy adjustment and work well. Unfortunately you cannot buy the 8 inch by itself. I now own at least 5 pair of the 12 inch which I rarely use. On top of that it costs more because of this. In most cases the more you buy the more you save, but not in this situation. I would always choose this brand of channel locks over any other but due to the added unnecessary expense ( I used to get the 8 inch for $10 -$12. ) I may be less likely to purchase in the future.

There probably are better quality tools that you can purchase but not for this price. I purchased these for general use but in judging the quality I can see these being used in the professional trades and I'm sure they are. These are a straight jaw plier and I have the same set in a V groove jaw. Also a 6" in a smooth jaw. The push button slide adjust feature and the none pinch handles are outstanding. Excellent tools which I feel good about recommending.

These Irwin vise-grip pliers are excellent quality. I expect to get years of solid use from them. I have similar Knipex vise-grip pliers which have a more 'refined' build with finer jaw-opening adjustments and narrower heads. I usually use the Knipex on more delicate/lighter work, and keep the Irwin's for the rough, knockabout jobs. Both brands perform brilliantly; that's why they are found in tradies' toolkits the world over.
