Only had to trim the corners (with old fabric shears) to fit in bucket container we use for pond filter.

I have had a garden pond since 1992. Over the years I have tried just about every kind of filter material I could find. I had just purchased a new Tetra 1000 GPH pump and wanted to find a very efficient filter material for the filter box. I purchased this product and the first thing I noted was that it is so dense/strong I could not cut it with a sharp pair of scissors. I had to use a utility knife with a new blade and a tee square to cut the shape(s) squarely. It turns out that this material is SO EFFICIENT I am having to clean it every 3-4 days because the muck it removes from the water clogs the material and my waterfall slows way down. Perhaps when the pond is VERY Clean I won't have to do the cleaning so often? I hope so!

The mesh was much finer than I was led to believe. It would be ok for an aquarium, (with small fish…low fecal production), but with a goldfish/koi pond, the pads would clog within 2 days. They were totally useless to meThe pads were well constructed and sized properly, but much too fine for my use.
