I purchased this after being advised against it by others as slippy for a little child (3.5) to use. I was so sick of trying to get the spongelike shoulder rest I was willing to give it a go. Well I was initially confused regarding the tilting needed for the 1/16 and could not get the shoulder rest to stick and not slip. But then I tightened the grip on the violin by adding a rubber band to squeeze the kun tighter and the shoulder rest is more solid than my kun. I was thrilled. My son even with a short neck was able to use it right away on his 1/16. I showed him it was just like mommys and he was sold. I won't say it is perfect but it is a great substitute for the sponge that I seem to place differently everytime my son practices. I am sure on a 1/10 it will even fit better.

The product fits my daughter's 1/10 violin perfectly. It has a nice soft pad and it makes her look and feel more 'professional' rather than the sponge one.

A music store said that no one made shoulder rests for smaller size violins, so we tried the traditional "pillow." Our daughter was way too frustrated with the pillow, so when I foundd this online, I was very excited. I believe that she would have quit if we didn't find the shoulder rest. Once we put it on, she went from being angry at her new instrument to being happy because it didn't hurt to hold her instrument and she could actually make music! It was nice to see her get such a big boost of confidence. We have used it for both her 1/8 and 1/4 sizes and it has been great. Only problem we have noticed is that one of the height adjustment screws is a little loose. Sometimes the gripper foot falls off when she is packing/unpacking it. It could be easily fixed but it is never a problem when she's playing. Highly recommend getting one for all little violinists!
