Appears to be a very good quality. Does not curl off debris as it burns or soot over. This 5/8" wick is an excellent replacement for my 1943 ADLAKE RR lantern. Use high quality fuel and high quality wick for least smoke! Do NOT mix fuel types. If changing fuel type, then also replace your wick (and cottons if present) for no cross contamination of fuels, and least smoke!

I should have ordered a wider size, didn't notice it was only 5/8 in. But it's good quality & price.

When I got my oil lamp, the wick was missing. So I got a discount buying it. I bought this size wick for the lamp and thankfully the wick fits in there just perfect. Actually, I measured the inside opening where the wick goes into and I determined it was this size wick. And it fit perfectly!

Measured the small piece still in our old oil lamp and bought this. Works good.

These are smaller than the size that came in my lantern so I'm not sure the flame will throw as much light. But, I guess that's my fault for not knowing that. Fabric seems thick and quality made though.

These fits the width of the opening in my antique lamps perfectly. The old wicks were disintegrating in my hand as I pulled them out so I was glad to find such a great replacement. Now some lamps that haven't been used in decades are in use once again. I trimmed them to shape, soaked up some oil and they instantly lit.I just wish the wicks were a bit longer as they are almost long enough to be cut into two but apparently I have deep bowls on my small lamps.

I was restoring a couple of 100+ year old oil lamps (when lamps were made in the USA, not China) and these are exact TRUE 5/8" replacement wicks. High-quality cotton cut to convenient 8" lengths. Previously I had ordered replacement wicks from another AMAZON vendor but those wicks were not true imperial measurement wicks and were metric; as a result, they were too tight and jammed in the adjuster. As for price, I think it is priced reasonably considering the last wick lasted over 100 years!

I bought a beautiful oil lamp at a flea market. I particularly loved it because it has a handle so it can be carried around like I'm a heroine from a Victorian novel!! ðŸ˜However, the wick included with it was too short to do any good ( see the picture of it beside one from the package) so I wanted to get a new one. I actually use my lamps when the power goes off. There were more expensive wicks on Amazon, but these seemed fine, so I took a chance. They are PERFECT for an antique oil lamp. They are a great length, easily inserted and roll up and down very smoothly. I'm very happy with them...I now have a beautifully working oil lamp and two extra wicks if I need them!FYI If you are Canadian run, don't walk, to Canadian Tire to get their absolutely amazing "Nectarine and Ginger " scented lamp oil. It smells INCREDIBLE!!

I was replacing some wicks in 100+ year old lamps. They were tricky to get started in the mechanism but once they were in place they worked well.
