I have used the grater attachment for cheese and it worked great! I looked it over and the entire product is stainless steel with no plastic! Came with a cleaning brush. The grater attachment that you can change is a little tricky to lock in the first time but once you get it figured out it’s very easy. Great value and should last forever!

I had a tough time between getting this aftermarket version, or the KitchenAid model. This one has 4 cones and I am intrigued by the 4th one. But I had already ordered, received, and sent back a different model from a different company that had cheap and flimsy aluminum cones, not to mention it was way smaller. Those models with the black plastic on the cones? Yeah don't get that one. But this one looked better so I took a chance. Glad I did, this one is good-sized and well made, all steel. I'm back to slicing potatoes for au gratin! And looking forward to trying the 4th cone. The only detraction with this model is the cones don't nest. They are straight-sided instead of cone-shaped so they don't fit inside one another. A small loss for a great piece of equipment.

The product fit my KitchenAid mixer properly. It was not easy to grip the edge to lock in the attachment, but it functioned fine. When looking at the attachment after being locked in, it does not look even, but it seems to work. I am not sure if that is how is supposed to fit or not. I tried the slicer on the carrots. Once the carrot got short enough to fall sideways, the shredding did not come out right, but that could just be because the holder did not have sharp enough "teeth" to hold a piece of carrot in place.

I have only used this once so far. But it seems to be very steady and solid easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone that is wondering if they fit a 4.5 qt mixer because it does. Easy to clean dishwasher safe.

Grates fine. But I ended up returning it because for me at least, it was hard to get the grinder out of the cylinder. I will stick with my hand turning one.

I ordered this attachment as a replacement for my old kitchenaid that broke.Pros: It feels and seems a lot sturdier. The feed hopper is made of steel, KA uses a plastic feed hopper that is prone to breaking under heavier load. The interchanging drum mechanism doesn't use a mechanical release, it clips on by rotating the opposite direction of the drums working travel. The press for the feed hopper has a handle on top, it has nice ergonomics but this is a minor improvement.Cons: The attachment kind of wants to work itself free from my stand mixer when in use. I have to periodically check to make sure it's still secure. The interchangeable drums are SHARP. This is normally a positive but take care during disassembly or assembly. It is very easy to injure oneself when interacting with the drums, and the locking mechanism requires you to actively engage with it. I would not recommend this if you have a young child that wants to help in the kitchen.Overall: Construction feels more solid and it definitely makes quick work of food. Assembly and breakdown requires added care to avoid injury. Might work itself free under continuous use. Price point is better than KA.

Another 3rd party attachment I have come to love for my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer! While expensive, the quality is worth the price. This makes slicing vegetables and cheese so easy. It is easy to put together but needs to be attached firmly and tightly or else it may move around and make the process harder, as well as damage the attachment or machine. Cleaning is a bit of a pain and need a thorough clean, I suggest with a brush, in order to remove all the shredded pieces of food from the attachment. It's made of good quality metal and doesn't bend like cheap manual slicers/shredders tend to do after a while. It has been a staple in the kitchen and takes up a lot less room than a big food chopper!

Fits like a glove - sometimes an issue with off-brand itemsHigh quality steel with some weight to it; No concerns about it breakingWorked great when I had a lot of cheese to grate.Further to that last point, cleaning this can be a pain. It just takes a lot of effort getting in all the nooks and crannies. Therefore we only really use this when we have significant volume to do, or if the mixer is already out on the counter.

This attachment was a nice time saver for so many different tasks.I was happy to see that it attached flawlessly to my kitchen aid, it is something I always get worried about with third party products. But this fit like a glove and operated smoothly through out my testing.It was sharp enough to not only slice/shred up hard objects but did really well on softer objects as well with out turning them into mush.Cleaning wise its a pain, the same pain any grater or slice is, it just takes a decent amount of time to really get in there and get everything out, while also being careful as it is extremely sharp.Operation though was a breeze, just plopped what every I needed into the loader, and very lightly pressed down and off it went. I found it left no waste either. If I put a piece of cheese in, it did shred the entire piece with out leaving any on the edges or sides.For a third party attachment it worked amazingly for myself and is something I use almost on a daily basis now!
