When I bought the new shower hardware, I didn't think too much about what type of spout I had bought or what type I needed until I got home and pulled the old one off. I looked all over for a conversion kit and this was the only one I could find. It worked perfectly, but make sure you get some of the plumbing tape to ensure water tight seals. The only issue I ran into was that my copper pipe was just a bit too big for the plastic piece. This was easily remedied with a file and I have no leaks or any other issues. I highly recommend this.

These are extremely poor quality. Purchase two of them for our shower spouts we were remodeling in our bathrooms and the first one lasted a month, cracked and was leaking badly. The second one did the same thing two weeks later. We had to buy new spouts with the slip on setup.

This item is made out of hard plastic and easy to install. Only problem is that it does not have a clear instruction on how to installation and what part goes to where. Once I figured out how to install, I was satisfied with the product. It fits with moen product.

This does the job, but you are relying on a lot of plastic. I’d recommend this for short term solutions mainly. I would also recommend sealing up any gaps with silicone in the wall where your pipe comes out to make sure that if (when) it fails, it doesn’t cause water to shoot backwards inside of your bathroom wall.Update: after a year and a half it’s still going strong — no leaks, tight feel — I wouldn’t try to hang on it, but good for daily use by an adult.

The product seems overpriced for what it is. The use instructions are poor. They could provide pictures to help with usage. I've bought two of these and the first one was fine but the second one had some issues outlined below. It had a bad o-ring (nicked/cut) so I had to buy a new one for .50 cents which isn't too bad but it's inconvenient. Next the workmanship on the securing allen screw (crooked threading) is poor. This issue causes the grey plastic adaptor piece to bulge a bit. Time will tell if this will cause premature failure. See images for these issues. The unfortunate thing is there arn't many options for something like this so it will have to do.

My issue/problem: My current pipe is 0.5" long and 3/4" ID threaded pipe. This setup can only take back-end threaded tub spouts, which have very limited selections. Why buy this adapter: This adapter can turn any kind of setup (as long as the nipple length is no more than 1.5" overall from the wall) into 4.5" long 1/2" ID threaded pipe, which could take 1/2" ID front-end threaded tub spouts (aka front IPS connection). This adapter will NOT take slip-on tub spout. What's not provided in the package: Teflon tape and a ratchet drive (to be used with 1/2" width Allen Key "J" as indicated on the instruction sheet, which is used to tighten adapter "B" into the tub spout housing). The instruction sheet is clear. Installation is a breeze without hiccups. They drew an O-Ring between sleeve "C" and adapter "B", which I could not find in the package. There is no part number for this O-Ring as well, so I just ignored it.The product itself does not feel cheap, but plastic is plastic - so hopefully it will last.
