This is a decent 2-pack of UV LED flashlights. It says the peak wavelength is 395nm, but there is also enough visible light (purplish) that you can easily tell if the light is on or off, and where the beam is pointed. It’s very similar to a standard “black lightâ€, and stimulates fluorescence in all sorts of things, including scorpions, sea anemones, and coral. I got these mostly to teach my kids about different wavelengths of light, so it’s a great demonstration to see how different things look under the UV light.This came with 6 AAA batteries (3 for each flashlight), but I did have to fiddle with the batteries a bit to get it to work. They didn’t all connect on the first try. I haven’t had any problems like that since, but it was frustrating on the first use. The silicone grippy parts slip a lot. It’s not a huge problem, but can be annoying. I just took them off. Interesting note, after shining the UV light onto the silicon bands, I found out the silicon bands are glow-in-the-dark (at least my green ones were).I have mixed feelings about the flashlights coming in vibrant colors. On one hand, I don’t care much for the color, but on the other hand, it helps me easily identify the UV flashlight from my regular flashlights that all look similar (that are all black). And, the silicon bands are glow-in-the-dark, but it’s pretty weak unless you charge them with another UV light.Final Rating: 4 stars. Fiddling with the batteries to ensure it’s working, and the silicone band slipping a lot caused it to lose a star. But otherwise, these work ok, and they actually came with the batteries.

First, a confession: I thought that these were regular flashlights, because I’ve seen lots of regular flashlights that look just like this, and I did not notice where it said that these were UV flashlights! So a big “Oops!†on me. And, of course, this explains all the odd-sounding uses about detecting pet urine, counterfeits, and wounded prey.Once I realized what kind of flashlights these are, I went around seeing what they could show me. Besides all kinds of tiny fluorescing bits (fabric? plastic? paper?) I found what I believe is the remains of cat barf. These flashlights will definitely be useful for that, because where there are cats there will be barf. And after I clean up the obvious barf, I’m not sure whether I remember the exact area it was in once I can’t see it anymore. I also have a litter box with compressed-pine pellets that I didn’t think any cat had ever used (it’s an acquired taste). But boy, the flashlight told another story. Pretty impressive! I had a cat that missed his litter box often enough that I removed the rugs there and washed them. The flashlight did not show any stains, so it's good to know that the washing was effective.The design of these flashlights is very similar to regular flashlights that are about the same size. I’m familiar with the kind of insert that holds the three batteries, and I had no trouble inserting the batteries, although it took me a few tries to get the two parts screwed together again. It turned out that the rubbery sleeve was in a position that got in the way, but it could easily be moved.An interesting thing was that after I turned one flashlight on, and the beam hit the other flashlight (which not only was not on, but didn’t even have batteries in it), the other flashlight glowed for a while after I turned the first flashlight off. I don’t know if they made them fluoresce on purpose, or if it just happened.Anyway, even though these flashlights were not what I intended to get, they work perfectly, and I’m enjoying seeing what lights up (not that finding traces of cat barf is actually enjoyable).

The flashlight is great for checking for pet stains. We already found two spots we did not even know our little puppy did an accident.The feal of the flashlight when using it is very solid. I highly recommend having these around the house or even bring them on trips so you can doublecheck your hotel rooms. Overall these are perfect for daily use.The only reason I am giving 4 stars was the battery holder was touching the positive and negative side and was overloading the batteries when I first inserted them. They had been hot to touch so I promptly removed them and checked the battery holder. Because the positive and negative charge metal was touch it caused it to overload. I was able to fix this by bending the metal a little and ensure before I insert all 3 batteries the first two had be inserted and was not touching the 3rd battery. This only happened on one out of two units so it may have been just a quality problem. For this I would suggest the manufacturer please add a Quality check for the battery insert as the metal was pretty easy to pop out of the battery holder. For those who do not know it takes 3 AAA batteries that get inserted into a battery holder that holder is then inserted into the larger chamber for the flashlight. It is nice to have it designed this way and only needs a little bit of tweaking to make it prefect.Since I was able to quickly fix the problem I did knock a star off. Otherwise this would have been 5 stars.

These are a very familiar form factor for a basic flashlight… 9 LEDs, 3 AAA batteries in a holder, aluminum body. This is a little different because they have added a silicone sleeve. The sleeve makes it more comfortable to hold for a while, and I’m less likely to drop it.The UV is plenty bright at close range, but dissipates quickly with distance. It seems like the right frequency for looking at security features on currency. It’s hard to photograph, but these do a great job of lighting up security features on dollar bills.I’m happy to have this in hand, to assist with checking money when I sell crafts at craft shows.

At first I put the batteries on the wrong side, so I thought they didn't work, but luckily I have connected with customers support and got good instructions so they function very good. So please be aware how to put the batteries, so it won't create a misunderstanding like what happened with meCame so quick as well

Très bien. Hormis le fait que ma commande était pour des lampes couleur bleu pour mes garçons et que je les ai reçu rose !
