We have an 11 month old alpha Labrador who loves to chew, has needle teeth, and is whip smart. He constantly finds the weak point in every leash we’ve had and chews through it fast. We’ve been asked by our trainer to leash him while he’s in the house with the family. Given his ability to power through rope, leather, etc. we turned to this as our “leash†specifically for inside the house. There aren’t many failure points on something like this. The metal parts like the cable and terminal joints seem sturdy and fine. The dog has chewed through the joint covers and has punctured the PVC cable coating, but that was expected. The carabeaner end is fine but the carabeaner itself seems of potentially dubious quality. Has been ok so far though. To me, the question is how long this cable holds up over time. The only way to figure that out is to keep using it and report back if there are any premature failures.

This is a good, durable, and worth the money. Easy to use clip.

I bought this leash to attach to a longer tie out so my puppies wouldn't get tangled up with each other when let out. It works well and has held up to their abuse. I've had it for a few months and it's still going strong.

yes our puppy rescue is a chewer extraordinaire. we tether him close to us so we can keep an eye on him (we don't want him in his crate all the time and we work at home), and this tether is the perfect leash length--long enough that he can explore and short enough that he can't pester our older dog while she is chilling.he did chew the red cover material off. I think this is no problem at all because hey he is a chewing machine right now. he has chewed thru 6 heavy duty leashes so far.this has been a lifesaver and a sanity saver: it gets him out of his crate and gradually getting him used to chilling on his bed with his chew toy.we purchased two of these, one for next to the desk, and one for next to the couch.

We love this lead. It is durable, even for a heavy chewer.

My dog is a massive chewer. He has not chewed through this cable. Big plus! Recommend a six foot instead of five foot. Not sure they carry that size.

This tether injured my 5-month-old puppy's foot within 10 minutes of its first use. He was tethered to my chair leg & under my constant supervision. He was fiddling a little with the tether, but all seemed fine. Suddenly he began shrieking and jumped away with the carabiner portion of the tether embedded in his foot. I struggled to remove it while he carried on hollering, and cut myself in the process. He was terrified and so was I, because at first I wasn't sure I could remove it. The design looks great, but the carabiner closure is sharp & can be partially opened by a curious young puppy. When it snaps shut, serious injury can result.
