If you find that the hood on your Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis won't pop up properly when you pull the hood release, chances are you need a new set of these.These lifts slowly loose their pressurized charge over time, and then you will find the hood not staying up properly especially in cold weather. The second clue is when the hood has to be pried up from its front edge to be able to access the secondary latch.They can be installed in 10 minutes with little drama. It helps to have a second person support the hood while you make the swap, but I was able to support the hood one side at a time with my shoulder just fine.These are made by Stabilus which was the OEM supplier for my Crown Vic as well as our two Chrysler vehicles.You will not be disappointed, and it is so nice to have your hood or rear hatch working as it should again!

The SG 404024 lift supports worked great on my 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis.Easy to install and a great product for the money.No more broom stick to hold the hood open The hood lifts with no effort at all. Great product.

These aren't actually Sachs struts, but rather Stabilus (part of the Sachs / ZF family). There's a Stabilus office in Sterling Heights that I drive past frequently and I never knew what they made until now. These were a perfect fit for the original 17 year old factory struts on my 2000 Crown Vic. It turns out Stabilus made the OEM factory hood struts, so these were literally a direct fit replacement set of struts. The 17 year old struts were still decent actually, so I'm confident these new struts will last the duration of the vehicle's life.Overall: 5/5 stars

These are the OEM lift supports for the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis, they work great and are easy to install. Install instructions are even included on the back of the package.

Going with five stars. Easy as butter to install and fit like a glove in my 2000 Ford Crown Victoria. So far functions like they should. If that changes I'll be sure to edit this review.

Works great, 5 minute installation time, just needed a flat head screwdriver to pry the old clip loose then just pushed in the new one and it clicked into place. Recommended.
